He's not ideal for CF but he played 56 games there last year and in 51 games in CF in 2020. Next season you slide him to left to take over for Brantley.
NY and LA trading with each other, what has this world come to? Anyways, didn't Gallo play CF for the Rangers at one point?
So many news and rumors on actually good players, then I remember Click is the GM and its hopeless...
The Padres have had what is considered an elite farm system for many years. This is even the second wave of this organization and GM dealing prospects in an effort to win now. The Padres have always had an over rated farm system to me. They draft young, high tool guys and move them up aggressively and that is something that gets a lot of attention. The amount of prospects they have traded away is staggering. Since the trade deadline in 2019 they have had these players come to or leave their organization in trade: Franmil Reyes Trent Grisham Zach Davies Jurickson Profar Hunter Renfroe Tommy Pham Jake Cronworth Manuel Margot Kirby Yates Josh Naylor Frenchy Cordero Francisco Mejia Ty France Chris Paddock Jorge Mateo Trevor Rosenthal Jason Castro Cal Quantrill Mike Clevenger Yu Darvish Austin Hedges Blake Snell Luis Patino Victor Carantini Joe Musgrove David Bednar Adam Frazier Daniel Hudson Taylor Rogers Josh Hader There are more.... I just got bored
I'd prefer to keep Urquidy, but the Astros are shopping for a center fielder. There aren't any rentals so the cost will be pretty high to get one. Starting pitching is where we have some surplus.
I ran the numbers on spotrac and it looks like adding Hosmer and Happ while taking out Neris would be 188 million. Then add Baez and rest of 40 man salary and we're right about 200 million. In future years, we'd have Smith/Happ added for a year. Mancini isn't guaranteed anything. Vazquez and Maldonado are free agents. There's plenty of flexibility...
This is how this went down. Dodgers "We want to trade for one of your players" Yankees "Hell no. Wait which player?" Dodgers "Gallo" Yankees "By all means, we love a good sabotage"
The Dodgers plan on putting Bellinger and Gallo together in a locked room and wont let them out until one of them figures out how to hit.
