Newrockstars has a good breakdown of the trailer with a good thought on how it could be Killmonger coming back as Black Panter. Starting around the 15 minute mark I wonder if the Black Panther we see in the trailer is someone (Shuri or that other lady) putting the suit on and trying to carry the torch but ultimately failing at it.
Would be a nice, ironic nod to no matter how much you believe in something doesn’t make it true…Like anti-vaxers (cough Shuri actress cough)
I'm not so sure about that but there is a theory that Atlantis is connected to the Mayans but that's an outlier, it could be interesting but a needless distraction if done heavy-handedly. I have a specific look for Namor and it's more mediterranian so that could also be a thing but I am more than open to it if done right and not just to check a box.
Im going to stop talking about this one day. I know I'm annoying you guys. I apologize. Van Lathan on his reason to RecastT'Challa. I really think this is weird how this is going down.
I really like Van Lathan I will listen to that in the gym. The other chick tries to be too woke sometimes.
Rachel is more conservative than Van. Van is the "woke" one (I HATE THIE WORD!). Van is very VERY liberal, he's just not your normal stereotypical liberal you see online. Van is so liberal he doesn't identify with democratic party anymore because he considers them to be centrists (not to bring politics in this). I like Van and Rachel's podcast and Van's other podcasts on The Ringer. underrated imo. I really like Van because he is a nerd for real, for real.
I have not listened to them in a while but when I did Van gave some nuanced arguments while Rachel was turned up to 11 Van is very liberal but he seems to understand there is some nuance, but he can also cater. I'm very liberal as well and I am woke but I don't feel the need to check for anybody else's wokeness. He is great on the rewatchables and any other TV/Movie stuff.
Has Namor ever been portrayed as South American/Aztec before? I am here for it but it does seem to be catering a bit, not the classic Namor.
Half white guy, half Atlantean. I think the Atlantean portion is what is being spun as ancient South American.
Namor was a half-breed as well? I did not know that does not seem they are leaning into that fact. I don't really care but I have a certain look to Namor in my mind and I hope they don't try to be too socially relevant. They are already using an obscure reference point for Atlantis and totally changing the cannon of Namor, I hope they don't try and appease the woke generation and just make a good movie.
Quit with the politics on this side of the forum. I never took a vaccine, and I never plan to. But I always felt it should be anyone's choice to do so. Oh, and BTW, been tested twice and never had a sniffle in this 2+ year nonsense.
