If the options are properly labeled, Astros determine whether or not to exercise the buyout or not and Odo determines whether or not to exercise his option. The order is fuzzy, but Odo doesn't get to exercise the Astros buyout anymore than the Astros get to exercise the Player option. They are independent choices. My suspicion is the Astros must go first. Then if the Astros do not buy out the option, the player may choose to exercise the player option or not. Mancini's mutual option has to have the details in the option itself on how it operates.
I can understand you trying to make sense of this trade but fact is.... -Hader has had some incredible seasons, 4 of his first 5 seasons he had an ERA under 2.62 (with last year being only 1.23). 125 saves in 269 games played. Post season 7 games (3 ERs in 14.1 Innings) -Rogers has never had an ERA under 2.61, has been above 3.96 ERA 3 times in 7 years (2 of the last 3) and has 78 saves in 361 games played. Post season 4 games (2 ERs in 3.1 Innings) You may say Rogers has been adequate but that's like saying the Bulls would've gotten a good return on Michael Jordan if they got some fillers, potential and Reggie Miller.
Yeah same here, dissapointed... Hopefully this was just a small deal with the big one coming after...
Bergman’s wife is in labor, so he will sit this one to be by her side. No paternity list, though, as of yet.
Return Yankees gave up for Montas and Trivino seems super lite. Fangraphs #15 and 24 plus 2 throw-ins. Doesn’t seem right.
