At least the NFL is consistent, they barely pretend to care if you abuse children or women....just stay off the WEED
It’s pretty simple. The NFL is in the business of selling tickets. Superstar quarterbacks sell tickets, which makes the league and the owners money. They don’t want him to miss any more games than necessary, but they don’t want to ignore the situation either and alienate the portion of the fan base that cares about the women he assaulted. The result? A slap on the wrist. Back to business as usual as quickly as realistically possible. Follow the money. Always follow the money. And the NFL can just blame the judge instead of taking accountability themselves. It’s pathetic.
Agreed, they not only condon Watson's behavior, but condone it. What I find interesting is the minority fact that are backing Watson, are turning their backs on these minority women. It's really kind of sad.
I'm guessing you're a minority who could give 2 sh-ts about these minority women and how Watson took advantage of his fame/fortune because these women were financially disadvantaged.

I'm glad Watson got suspended. He deserved it. He deserves court ordered sex addiction therapy too. It's only a matter of time before Watson violates the Judge's condition and gets caught trolling unlicensed therapists for sex again.
"Deshaun Watson sells tickets" is a bit of a stretch for me. He's as much of a liability as an asset to the league right now, if not more.
Difference is that these are allegations. He was not found guilty, and he settled the majority of the cases. The NFL can't prove that he did it and Watson denies doing anything wrong. The NFL can put the hammer down when there is proof of wrong doing, in this case there is no proof, therefore the lesser suspension.
Strategically this is a win for the NFL. They can blame the "independent" judge for the 6 game ruling, then appeal to get 2-4 more games. The NFL comes out looking like the good guy, as they were the ones trying to increase the suspension. Everything is BAU once Watson returns.
