Is it really this bad? Rob Liefeld On The Entitlement Of The Youth Of Today Posted on July 30, 2022 by Rich Johnston | Comments Rob Liefeld, co-creator of Deadpool, Cable and X-Force, now at the grand old age of 54, has something to say about the youth of today. Posting to Facebook… "THE NEXT GEN – Gotta be honest, had to cut ties with a number of new talent this past spring & summer. Several of these, the work will never see the light of day, I'm having it re-done. The connective tissue is the age, these are individuals who are of an age between Millenials and Gen Z. The talents I let go are terrible with directions, they love to argue and have zero accountability. No matter how polite I share, and I write every exchange as if it would be shared in public, the reactions are a style and manner that I haven't encountered before. I go out of my way to give the benefit of the doubt, spoon feed the info and directions. But the snap and deflection is unlike anything I've encountered in 36 years. I've had a great track record breaking all manner of talents over 3 decades but man, this is a whole new era and I'm learning that I don't have the patience for the petulant behavior. Add to the fact that I pay top rates, I'm not looking for bargains. Makes me wonder what will become of the industry over the next decade. I've been really fortunate to work with so many great talents over the course of my career, but this is a whole new era that has a different standard of the dread "entitlement". Rob Liefeld screencap There is a sketch from At Last The 1948 Show which was further popularised by Monty Python: Live At The Hollywood Bowl, originally titled The Good Old Days and now better known as Four Yorkshiremen which begins "when I were a lad…" Rob Liefeld concluded "I haven't encountered it in the field of comics until these past few months and wow, I'm floored.
This is the gay dude that pretty much killed comics in the 90's? He seems eager to get any msg across that he works really hard n stuff.
Yeah, it really is that bad but it's not that bad across the spectrum. I bet it's worse in the creative field because everybody thinks they are the next best thing and are "ahead" of the curve, as well as "Boomers" don't know anything. It's a double edge sword it's great to "think outside the box" and to question everything but sometimes your job is to just follow instructions and the youngins of this day and age think they know it all. At the end of the day, I think some back and forth is a good thing it keeps everybody on their toes but sometimes you just have to follow instructions until you can do your own thing. With that said I bet this guy is not great with personal interactions and is a bit of a tyrant that younger workers are not putting up with anymore.
Except that the states that are blue pay more in taxes and receive less in federal funds than the red states. https://apnews.com/article/north-am...ews-politics-2f83c72de1bd440d92cdbc0d3b6bc08c
What about fact check article isn't accurate? But here are some other sources. https://www.moneygeek.com/living/states-most-reliant-federal-government/ https://finance.yahoo.com/news/most-and-least-federally-dependent-us-states-135622345.html
Zoomers can pick up nasty habits and act more entitled for what they put back. It's party millennial managers coping with lenient "positive managing" where those tools aren't made to confront petulant BS. For some reason, I assumed Liefeld was Gen X-Men.
There is entitlement. I went a higher end sushi restaurant where the default tip was 25% on the iPad system they use , obviously I chose less. this gen Z person forgot my drink , so I told her , hey I ordered a drink too. She says nothing and then drops off my drink like she was doing me a favor . 15% because I respect the workers but should have been 0
I have heard some variation of this for years and I always ask "Who handed out the participation trophies?" 8 year old kids aren't calling up shops and having ribbons printed.
That is just wrong. What the left wants is fair compensation. What the right has done is take away people's lives and make them think their value is in their work when it is actually somewhere else. If the minimum wage had kept up with inflation it would be $27 an hour right now. Also, blow your mind with this, we actually need a LOT MORE IMMIGRATION to sustain our country, we aren't having enough children to sustain growth much more than 15-25 ish years. We need to stop following the BOOGEYMAN on the news and get real facts.... DD
In some regard I am sure that is his experience. If you fast forward 30 years someone he is talking about will be writing something just like this about the young generation entering the workforce. Furthermore, someone likely wrote the same things 30 years ago about his generation.
