    For a sport with so many freakishly tall people, NBA legends have been surprisingly long lived. Only the 5th MVP to have passed, and one of them was Kobe.

    GOAT arguments always ignore truly GOAT worthies like Russ, Wilt, Kareem. Even Dream.

    Olajuwon was better than MJ in earlier 80s and 93-97. Magic and Bird were better than MJ through almost all of 80s.

    MJ was GREAT. And had a platform greater than Russell or Kareem but never used it.

    The GOAT argument is far from closed.
