well damn How do u get banned once for having multiple accounts, and then do it again? I will never understand having multiple accounts
Dude think about how easy it is Especially when it costs nothing implement a fee then multiple accounts will not happen
it’s definitely easy, but on a mental level, I just don’t get it…it’s so weird to me I could never even imagine myself having multiple accounts…giving them different posting styles…quoting my other account…and all the other weird stuff these people with multiple accounts do
Heard his brother worked at Chuck E. Cheese Then didn’t high five some kid Then the kid got his Travis heights posse to get payback
Sorry for the first quote - I accidently hit reply and got caught up in work. As a recap - first of all, I did apologize to Reeko and King1. Second of all, I said I was concerned by the police's response, not that they didn't respond. There is an official police report, at the time I said it happened, during a flash thunderstorm, involving a victim (my brother, name ID'd in this thread) in an assault with a firearm. We were able to touch base with the initial officer on the scene (Hector Castelan), had the case upgraded, and we have been in close contact with the detective. It was not part of their press release as the investigation is ongoing. Honestly, had a response for this thread ready a week ago, but I have been worried about my brother's recovery and the negativity/doubt in this thread gave me a bit of anxiety. About my brother - he has had his eye surgery and is in recovery. He is in good spirits but the diplopia he experiences as a result of his injury is giving him severe headaches. I would like to add there were many sweet people that reached out to our family via social media and did things like start meal trains for my brother. Friends were able to put us in touch with a very kind attorney in Austin that has helped counsel us. Austin has a fund for victims of firearm related accidents that we are pursuing as a result. Overall, there has been a lot of generosity shown to our family and we are very thankful. I see that there is a some doubt about whether I just made it up. As I stated earlier, that is completely fair, I am just a rando on a basketball forum. To keep the positive vibes going, I am willing to put my money where my mouth is in tribute to this site. @J.R. and @tinman lets do a tip jar bet as to the validity of my brother's incident. We can have Clutch (and/or any other trusted 3rd party) verify if it happened. If it turns out I did make it up, I will tip $200 to the site. If it is true, you guys tip $200. If you both take me up on it, I am willing to tip double to match if I lose (and of course apologize to everyone here for making up something so crazy!). Either way, we get to contribute to an online hangout we all frequent and enjoy.
Hope your brother gets better quickly. What a nightmare to go through. I started coming to Austin during the 1960's and we moved here in 1980. How the city has changed. It's difficult to believe. Where we live used to be outside the city limits and we could hear cows mooing at night, stars in the sky. Now it's considered close in. Not all that long ago, I'd walk around the neighborhood really late at night and think nothing of it. Not any more. It isn't worth the risk.
@Vivid, how would Clutch verify that it happened? Anyway, hope the recovery goes well. Thanks for the update.
I would imagine looking at official police reports, hospital reports, and speaking with reps at APD to verify facts of the case. Large portions of the records are completely accessible by the public. I also want to add that the staff at APD have been mostly helpful (aside from the first officer but we were able to get that resolved) and verifying details like this is part of their job.
OK — so couldn’t you just provide those links? Maybe that wouldn’t be as satisfying as proving the doubters wrong AND getting them to lose a tip jar bet, but it seems far more likely to actually happen. I kind of doubt that you’d convince those posters to agree to the bet and get Clutch to do the necessary investigative work to verify your account.
It also doesn't have to be Clutch, it can be someone like you if all parties agree. Nothing has to happen, I don't need to prove anything and it makes no difference to me if they want to engage in a friendly wager. But it allows members of the community on here call me out for fabricating a story about my family. Seems like that would deserve some internet justice in the form of a site donation. I think it is a fun way to "bury the hatchet" and add some positivity to the thread and to the site.
