Only 3.5 games out of the wild card, but tied with the White Sox and two other teams in front. With Seattle going for it with Castillo, and Toronto being 5+ games ahead, they’ve got to think if they’re going to jump Baltimore, Cleveland, and Tampa just to have a road playoff series. A team like Seattle who’s been in an age long drought may be content just getting in, but if you’re the Red Sox and it’s a hot market… why not call it a long shot and restock on prospects and gear up for 2023?
Both. Buyers waiting to see if the Red Sox bring more players available to trade for. Sellers waiting to see if Red Sox might bid on their players. I would imagine the Giants are another team holding up the market
Thanks. Didn't consider that. With Donovan on the team, Dubon becomes expendable. Would he and a guy like Emmanuel Valdez be an acceptable substitute? Murphy and Moll For Abreu, Paredes, Dubon, and Valdez?
It's still a problem just not an emergency because we do have MLB pitchers under team control. It would be nice if some of these starters in AAA and AA had been performing better and could be more valuable trade pieces because the prices seem pretty high right now for trades.

Same. Choi is a lateral move at best. As I said, a ton of whiff, and not even that much power. If we can’t get Bell or Cooper (I believe he has untapped HR potential), I would just roll with Gurriel and upgrade the OF.
You mean you wouldn't have made the Verlander/Greinke trades? If Click makes the equivalent of a trade for a bat the Stros are the leading contenders for another title. IMHO Sometimes when you are as good as the Stros are you've gotta go for it. The Stros and Mariners are in different situations.
Trade proposal- Siri (Trade Value- 5.6) for Bell (3.7)- per baseballtradevalues.com This needs to happen soon
Bell, Cooper, and now Choi are the only names I’ve head linked to us at first base. I imagine Click has at least asked about Mancini, but I think, if anything, I doubt Baltimore sells. Besides, Mancini, with his cancer survivor story, is arguably the most popular MLB player in his current city. Bad PR move to trade him if they’re in the hunt but I’d argue they would benefit from a Mancini for Odorizzi swap (they have Mountcastle at 1B and several good OF).
