Yuli traditionally gets worse in the playoffs, so it's not like we can rely on his ability to focus in the postseason. Which if we could rely on, I would trust his swing. Not sure this can be resolved without getting some help.

The site I used extrapolated the stats out over the course of 162 games.

For example, if he made 15 starts but was only available for half a season, his 162 game average was 30.

Christ would have to preform a miracle for the the Astros to sweep today considering game 4 of the series is tomorrow.

The Nationals are a stupid organization run by trash idiots that can go **** themselves. They don’t understand how things work. They do stupid ****. They have the luckiest WS championship of my lifetime and it came opposite one of the 50 (maybe 25?) greatest teams in MLB history. Baseball is such a stupid and aggravating game. Let them hold onto him in a year they are down 30 games all the way to the end. Nelson Cruz too. And they should definitely keep Soto until the off-season and just go ahead and destroy 33% of his value. And I know they might do this because maybe the only people dumber than the Rockies (I know- I switched to the dumbest org in baseball instead of a top 8 dumb org in baseball) is the typical baseball journo that thinks that’s a good idea.

    I just hate Will Harris.

The man responsible for the two biggest Astros chokes in the last 7 years.

He was the pitcher who gave up all the runs to let the Royals back in it in 2015.

Also the man who gave up the homer in the most BS fashion in 2019. That one I will blame equally on Hinch for not putting Cole in.

Will Harris was an absolute stud in that 19 postseason, we may not even make it to a game 7 if he hadn't been so awesome.

And Carlos Correa booted a ball that would have ended that inning in 2015, so I hope you hate him also.

So... it's bad for an oganization for trying to squeeze out as much value as they can 3 days before the deadline?

It’s only stupid if Bell is still in DC after the deadline.

Look man, you are trying to let logic and reason get in the way of my hate. This is a fools errand. I will never get over 2019 losing to those scrubs who spent most of the season flailing around in mediocrity and then ended up with a horseshoe up their ass.

You could argue it’s stupid that they didn’t clear the deck on him earlier (and Cruz if he’s going- which he should) and anyone else they might move so that they can focus all their energy on Soto.
Also- it looks like they chased the Mets off the board who have made 2 other deals and are probably out on him bc Washington has an unreasonable price. I’m sure they are doing stupid **** (like the Cubs with Contreras) and saying give us Urquidy (or Brown) and you can have Bell. Which is just stupid and pointless. But whatever. Pick your favorite 2 40 value prospects from whoever is offering and make a deal. That’s what he’s worth. That’s what they will get. Unrealistic posturing before a deadline just is. A waste of time.

Um what? The 2019 Astros had a better team on paper for sure, but that Nats team was really good. 3 starters with sub 3.40 ERA's, some absolute stud position players and an overall team OPS of .796. More importantly, they were hot at the right time much like the 2021 Braves.

In the 2022 Nats case, they perfectly understand how things work. If they don't get a good deal they hold on to their players and the fans get to watch some exciting baseball players.

In the Rockies case, I think the FO finally recognizes that if they keep selling off every time they're not in the playoff hunt (which is a lot) there's nothing for the fans to invest in.

It's interesting that the Astros "burn it down to facilitate the rebuild" mentality is so pervasive in the Astros fan base now that people expect and are even offended if another team doesn't do that. The irony being it was a competitive advantage for the Astros BECAUSE other teams weren't doing it. If every team acts that way (arguably rationally), the game is a lot less interesting.

The Astro bats choked in the 2019 series in every home game. The bats are to blame. They were pressing and they choked.

Only a dumb organization in a field of competitive endeavor would ask the question- is our tact we are taking more interesting dow the sport as a whole. That’s absurd. Yes, it irritates me when people do stupid things, against their own best interests, when they know there is a better way. The Rockies are a blight on baseball, run by morons, that should be mocked and laughed at for all time. The Astros way is the way- if that’s bad for the sport as a whole then it’s baseballs job to stop it.
