    Depend a lot on how teams value Diaz given that he appears to have the tools to play C. Christian Walker?

    I think somebody like Taylor Ward (ironic, since I was just talking about him). Think, solid but not elite hitter with a 2-3 more years of control.
    EDIT: It would also depend on how the acquiring team view's Diaz's defense and odds at sticking at catcher.

    Honestly wouldnt touch Cooper or Walker

    Would wanna see what Diaz can do. Still holding out hope we won the Straw trade

    Seems like a sneaky good target then all things considerred. Can prolly play our LF at a very high level. Seems to have good discipline with a good walk to K ratio and controllable for another year.

    Very expensive, but I wouldn't hang up the phone immediately. I don't know how many years of control we'd have after the trade but I'd have to think about it. Soto is a Verlander like trade. He easily puts us in the WS if you ask me.

    I'm skeptical on a catcher's defense that doesn't catch much. As Astros seem to value defense a lot, I expect Diaz is being shopped and is the most likely prospect to be traded.

    You don’t think Pena or Javier have the potential to be all stars?

    The Astros system has recently produced star level players.

    That same system basically built the backbone to an entire rotation after losing Cole and Morton.

    Brown also has the potential to be an all star.

    I am friends with Keith Law… but we have argued before about the Astros system. He said McCullers couldn’t be a starter. He said Alvarez couldn’t play the field and his bat was too slow. He didn’t view Valdez or Javier as big leaguers. He thought Urquidy was an end of the bullpen guy.

    He has basically been wrong about everything Astros related. He did like Appel though.

    Is Happ that good? His career numbers look slightly above meh. Maybe we’ve just been spoiled but I don’t want to give up a whole lot for him unless I’m missing something in the advanced stats world
