I’d be all for this, but the picks would have to be 2028 and 2030 and I’m not sure the rules allow the picks that far in advance. Seems like I read it somewhere. Even if its allowed pretty sure Stone is totally against Harris’ contract which would eat up 37M in cap space the year he is targeting the ability to take in 80M
I get it on the cap space but we would be trading for a star most likely which Harris' expiring deal becomes a facilitator. I didn't check specifics on sixers draft assets. My understanding is they dealt two for Harden and then the most recent for O'Neale. You may be right....
They have plenty of frp’s but none back to back until 28 and 29 so can’t trade any of the others without frp’s coming back that would keep them from having 2 years in a row without a pick.
Maybe a 28 and 2 pick swaps then? I'm fine with that... just want to invest for down the road in case a high pick goes bust or someone is hurt...
I’m for it. I don’t think we need maximum space in 2023 and taking on a bad contract for a lightly protected pick is something I would explore, but in Stone I trust.
I understand his reasoning on the cap space. I took a look at the free agents and there isn't anyone i would pay more than 15 million per for... That means we trade for that star... sending a 1 year expiring deal back versus no salary is a minimal issue to me. If a team is swapping a star, they are rebuilding in a multiyear fashion... it does hurt our leverage, but not as badly as if there were good free agents hitting the market...
I don't know, in the last couple years I think Trash has been the heart and soul of our team. And, Treasure looks like fool's gold to me. Maybe throw in unprotected picks through 2050 and I would consider it.

matthews, martin for harkless or holiday nwaba, burke, brown, and chriss for Bogdanovic hawks add a couple seconds for getting out of the tax we cut whichever of harkless/holiday...
I think Rockets will take on a bad contract with money still on 2023, but keep at least 1 max cap space slot open.
Rockets in Westbrook 2 lightly protected picks 76ers Gordon Mavs slop Nwaba Lakers Tobias Harris KJM More Mavs slop
Hawks signed Harkless and Holiday because they wanted to add proven playoff vets to their rotation. Hawks do not want more inexperienced young players. They are in contention mode. Lots of chatter from ATL about adding Ben Simmons, believe it or not.

Would need to wait until 8/23 to trade Trey Burke or Marquese Chriss (or any of the Mavs players) in aggregated trade. You can trade Burke (or Chriss) by himself before 8/23.
So we lose EG, Nwaba, and Martin (all will be gone by trade deadline anyway, of course), and in return we take an extra $20M in salary (or buyout) for this year and a couple of protected picks? I would only do this if they're unprotected 1st-rounders. Protected picks aren't worth $10M each.
If Jalen Brown is available The Rockets should definitely look into it Rocket River I expect a Harden like jump Once he is on his own team
