Biden does say a lot stupid things and comes off a beffudled and hokey at times. Note he was saying stupid and hokey things decades ago. His administration is getting things done and so far has gotten more significant legislation passed than the previous one and has more bipartisan legislation passed than Obama's at the same time. Other than the sudden deal on climate and energy that was announced yesterday that followed a bipartisan bill on strenthening US chip manufacturing with a South Korean manufacturer anouncing a major expansion in the US. So while Biden does say some frankly embarrassing thigs publicly the Biden Presidency isnt as ineffective as many portray it has.
His presidency is awful. No rational person can say otherwise. And, if he drops Dead, we get Kamala Harris which is 100 times worse
I have a hard time typing so wont go through the list of all the major legislation that has been passed. I will note that even Republicans, some whom didnt even vote for the bill, are capaigning on projects from the bipartisan infrastrtucure bill. Yes I wont deny there are some big problems and many are sef inlicted but geven that we're still seeing job numbers very high, a lot of new infrastucture coming, Russia held in check in Ukraine without committing US combat troops and even signs that iflation is dropping the facts dont show this as the unmitgated disaster that many claim this top be.
No worries. Hope you're doing better. I agree with you that we've had a difficult run of presidents. I'm concerned because I have two children. I don't want Trump back but I don't want Biden or Harris. I'm ok with DeSantis, Tulsi or Yang. Latter two don't seem like a reality
Why is Biden's presidency awful to you? If it's about policies... what are the policies you want to see?
The economy is garbage. It's killing people who actually have money and run businesses. We're paying people who don't want to work. I don't even think Biden knows what's going on to be honest with you
Instead of guessing .... not sure what you mean, so more questions What is garbage about the economy (inflation, job, wage, ...)? What do you mean that it's killing people running a business? People don't want to work means what - are you talking about people sitting around doing nothing? Business can't fill open positions? Any specific policies that you think are causing these issues or want to see specific policies to solve them?
As a small business this is one of my busiest times. I just hired someone this week. As I said there are big problems and things for me mught look very different afew months from now but this economy isnt universalky garbage. It's a mixed bag,
https://www.unemployment-extension.org/unemployment-rate.php https://ycharts.com/indicators/texas_unemployment_rate It's really hard to take seriously the whole, paying people who don't want to work, considering people aren't receiving stimmy checks anymore, and current unemployment is so low. It doesn't speak well that with unemployment as low as it is, arguing semantics or not, that it definitely feels like a lot of Americans are enduring a recession whether economists can agree with that or not. Plus the fact that you gotta consider, at least in Texas, how many Texans who are employed but aren't covered with a health insurance provider. Given that business owners aren't even required to provide health insurance benefits for their own employees or any benefits for that matter, business owners already don't have to factor in expenditures that would increase the quality of life of their own employees while probably increasing loyalty and a better work ethic among the tasks assigned to them. You get what you pay for. https://www.texmed.org/TexasMedicineDetail.aspx?id=49562 https://comptroller.texas.gov/economy/fiscal-notes/2020/oct/uninsured.php
My own personal experience with my job and my retail and real estate businesses. Hiring has slowed (not stopped, just not at the frantic pace from 2021 and early '22 - I see this as mostly cautionary as the economy seems to be slowing due to the fed hike). Retail is still going strong. Real estate is still very hot, but slowing down due to higher interest rates.
I have a hard time believing these numbers or anything that comes out of Biden's Admin... They're redefining what a recession is (according their new definition, economy is actually booming), what's to say they're redefining what "unemployment data" really is? I'm seeing countless amount of people posting on LinkedIn that they've been laid off and looking for new roles. I have connections with many people that have been on the job hunt for months (with very solid resumes). In addition, big tech has been laying off thousands - including Microsoft, Oracle ($1 Billion in cuts coming), Twitter, Tesla, Netflix, Shopify, Ford, Coinbase, Robinhood, JP Morgan.... just to name a few.
Do you like DeSantis because of economic policy reasons? What prominent economic policy principles has he expressed? He's popular because he dipped his feet into the culture wars. I know you are addicted to "woke" content and it seems like you'll catch on like a child to any politician who uses that type of red meat.
What is the change in defining a "recession" you are referring to exactly? We need specifics so we can discuss from a standard set of facts and reality so we aren't just speaking over each other.
