Rebranding the texans to the oilers will not make us any less of a sht franchise. U can put air freshener around a pile of sht, and it would still b sht. hopefully it would take us less years to b competitive again.
If the Texans moved back to the Oilers, they'd lead the league in jersey sales for the next 3 years. Rap industry would embrace it (Travis Scott). The Oilers would be cool again. Right now the Texans are anything but cool. We are irrelevant, unfortunately. Now is the time to take a chance and make a significant move!
I guess you can't read? The Texans were NEVER the Oilers. Hence, they don't have the rights to the name/colors. The Adams family specifically do not want the city of Houston to have that name/colors and the NFL agreed. Without the Adams family willing to sell/give up the rights the name/colors, it is moot. Also, the Texans do not want that name/colors. 26 years since the Oilers played a game in Houston. Atleast 40% of the Texans' fan base have no attachment. Travis Scott was 5 years old when the Oilers last played in Houston. Wearing a throw back doesn't mean squat. GET OVER IT. The Texans will get new unis at some point, the Red Helmet is a first step. The Texans' name and colors aren't going anywhere.

Meh. They might. They might not. They didn't shut the XFL down. They certainly can't hold back on colors. Just name it NASA blue and give it 1% more blue. Of course they want nothing to do with the Oilers, because that would cost them money.
The XFL was not the same logo/colors. The Titans didn't view the logo as a threat. Or The McNairs like the Colors/logo? The Texans will never change the name because Bob McNair loved the name and colors. It has become a way to honor the late FOUNDER of the franchise. The uniforms will probably be updated, but the logo and color scheme (blue, red, white) will stay the same. I guess you are not old enough to remember that ALOT of people HATED Columbia Blue uniforms and thought the oil derrick logo was bland? It was only when throwbacks became all the rage in the 2000 that those colors and logo were really appreciated. Same with the Rainbow Astros uniforms. People view nostalgia with Rose-colored glasses.
Houston could get the rights to the Oilers brand it's just a matter of how much -- anything is better than the current name -- I'd prefer 'Derrick Dolls' to 'Texans'. Houston Texans is so f*cking lame.
