Trade Whitley, Myers, and Leon for Springer and baby Biggio...Biggio at first and Springer back in center...
Ive got to looks at it Joe Mantiply and Alek Thomas for Jose Urquidy or Jose Urquidy for Heston Kjerstad and Carter Baumler which would you choose
Of course but this narrative that Hinch is this great manager is highly overrated. Guarantee you if Dusty had the most dominant pitcher on the planet (that season) he would have pitched him in game 7. Just saying.
1B would would be hell on his knees. Been there, done that. OF is infinitely easier on your body, I've mentioned this a few times in the past.
I really want Bell but also want to keep Yuli for depth and chemistry since he's a leader, especially with the Cuban players. He can be the occasional DH and backup 1B. We can let him go after this season.
Bell should cost an org top 10 plus an org top 30; something like Forrest Whitley and Logan Cerny. Martinez’s cost would be slightly less. Castillo will cost 2 Org top 5 prospects plus a throw-in; something like Brown and Leon plus Ronel Blanco.
In an ideal world it would cost you Maton, Odo, Chas and Garcia. Basically they are all surplus if you’ve got those guys coming back to you, and those first two should be able to be flipped for enough prospects to pay the dues on the hitters, and Garcia plus Chas (or his prospect equivalent) should be enough to fetch Castillo. Send those 4 out, call up Brown, bring those 3 back - and the farm isn’t touched and the logjam at pitcher is broken up.
I don’t think Maton has much trade value right now. Odorizzi’s dropped significantly when he ran into that blister issue in his last start, but I do think he still has value and might even get close to being worth as much as Martinez. Yes, Chas and Garcia have a lot of value right now and could probably net a player of Castillo’s value in the right scenario (although I don’t think the Reds would accept that trade). So in terms of “paper” value, yeah, Houston’s surplus players should be able to bring them a significant haul this deadline, and to completely address all their needs they may just need those 2-3 players plus another 2-3 2nd or 3rd tier prospects. Obviously I would say if they’re able to get 2 elite bats and a ToR SP out of this deadline without giving up any of their top 5 (pre-draft) prospects (Brown, Lee, Leon, Diaz, Barber), that would be a huge huge win for Click.
Yep. I don’t think Chas would go to cincy, but you could maybe send him to a contender and that hail coming back could pay the Castillo tab. The RP market is brutal. Maton has 2 years of club control after this, right? I’d think that prospect net out could come close to JD Martinez but I’d just be guessing I suppose. Maybe he seems like he should be worth a couple of top 20 ish prospects in an org. or, maybe a Yordan Alvarez or Jeff Bagwell…
Impossible to say We know what the cost has been historically But with expanded playoffs and so many teams not knowing which way to go, it’s impossible to say what costs will be until we start seeing some deals I honestly think teams are going to balk at giving up bigger returns because if more teams in the race But we shall see
In light of this morning's report about us possibly trading one of the starters, here is a proposal that could get us a controllable, All-Star caliber bat. Astros get: OF Bryan Reynolds Pirates get: RHP Luis Garcia OF Colin Barber C/1B Yainer Diaz OF Corey Julks Astros get a controllable, star hitter. If we truly are willing to trade one of the young starters, this is the move. While serviceable in center, Reynolds is better suited for a corner. Barber feels expendable with all the organizational depth we have, and Diaz, perhaps if an organization does see him as a C at the next level places more value in him. I think Barber and Diaz are both good pieces, but we have depth in the minors and who knows what they will amount to in the majors. Julks is sort of a throw in. He can play OF immediately to fill in for Reynolds and maybe even Gamel, who may also be moved. Definitely blocked here, but maybe someone else will give him a shot.
The way it sounds is Hunter Brown is off limits. They wanna move Jose Urquidy , Maton and Odorizzi Theres teams that can use all three. If im trading them Im wanting something that can help this year or next year for sure. Example Jose Urquidy and a prospect to the Orioles for Heston Kjerstad, DL Hall and Felix Bautista Something Like that. It sounds like alot of not enough to certain people but it helps another example would be Odorizzi and Maton to the Cards for Alec Burleson and Tink Hence Like I said before may not be enough or may be to little Last example would be Jose Urquidy, Shawn Dubin, Jonathan Bermudez and Jaimie Melendez to the Diamondbacks Alek Thomas and Joe Mantiply other then something like those I think we are just gonna add to defining bats
