Fascism is an approach to governing that places highest priority on industry and commerce. The populace is managed to support industry/commerce. It isn't easy to gather a decisive level of support from the populace to facilitate subjugating their own needs and desires. The few with desire and means to institute and preserve fascist governance have found it necessary to sway sentiments along other channels. Demonizing some group of "others" is about as easy a tactic as there is to distract a sizable segment of a populace to forego their own self-interests. Fomenting nationalistic fervor is the textbook program to achieve fascist government. Until some other approach is developed to convince people in large numbers to choose to surrender their personal freedom in favor of maximizing profit for the captains of industry, fascism and nationalism walk in lockstep.

trump made it ok for his base to finally express how they REALLY feel and now the candidate's are following his lead because deep down that's how they really feel.......they can now say it outload and get applauded for it.

Still haven't heard a word from Trump, DeSantis, Gaetz or Boebert disavowing the nazi group that was outside the Tampa convention center during the Turning Point USA event on Saturday.

It's not that hard to issue a statement.

 

I don't think it's politically sound for them to do so. Calling out fascists and Nazis is going to upset their base and that will lower turnout for them.
