I agree this is what will happen, although KJM will probably be moved before the season. I hope Eason is getting 25m or more after the all-star break.
I never saw scola pass ever when he got it in the Post. Comparing him to Scola is taking away his best skill which is his passing and play making. Only big man comparisons he has are Jokic or Sabonis. Will he ever hit those peaks. I hope so. I wouldn't doubt a 19 year old kid adapting to the NBA and a new country. Give him a few years before you make this kind of statement. He won an MVP at 18 in a grown man league. Not many could do that.
35 wins was play in territory last year. Spurs got in with 34 wins. Like the Cavaliers did last year when they made a huge jump, Mobley turned out to be as advertised, Garland took a massive leap forward and Allen was a fantastic rim protector. The Rockets could turn out to be a 40 win team just by Jalen and Kevin taking steps forward and Jabari/Tari being defensive menaces. This isn't even taking Sengun into account. I think if the Rockets try to win games, they'll win games. I just don't think they're untalented enough to win less than 35 games unless they're outright trying to lose. Last year we were running a twin tower lineup with Theis/Wood for crying out loud. Two of the worst starting bigs in the league. No spacing, Jalen was abysmal defensively, Kevin was still in his head and Sengun had the conditioning of the kids at fat camp. Maybe I'm a bit too optimistic but I just think this team has a clear direction and has an established hierarchy of points production as well as defense. I'm more than comfortable with Green/KPJ/Gordon/Jabari/Sengun or if you're worried about Sengun in the 4th you can roll with Green/KPJ/Gordon/Tari/Jabari. As a second unit where I'd sit Jalen/Sengun you can run KPJ/Jaygup/Tari/Jabari/Garuba and you're even more of a menace defensively. How many other rebuilding teams have that level of talent? The Pistons are going to be a defensive sieve, as are the Thunder with Giddey/SGA. Orlando as well with Paolo/Franz who Jalen/KPJ would torch. The Kings? Spurs and Jazz are headed towards the lottery. Blazers as well.
You are starting to understand the plan. Accumulate as many top 3 picks as possible until at least one breaks into stardom, and then cash in the others and open your contention window.
I think we are in violent agreement. I think they win 35 games this year. Whether that is bottom end of the lottery or a play-in team doesn’t make much difference. The only way they don’t is if they are trying to lose or there is an injury to KPJ, Green, Jabari, or Sengun.
That's what's great about having a floor stretching PF; it allows us to play Eason at SF, even though he doesn't have the most perimeter skills.
He did, and in a decent league too, but not an elite athletic league.....I like him, but I don't see him as anything close to an elite level NBA player. DD
Last nite Eason was live streaming on Instagram asking for Netflix show suggestions. Got him to say he will check out Mindhunter based on my recommendation.
That's where we will disagree. I think he's a good coach away from being a star. Literally Silas has no clue how to use him. And he standing around at the three point line half the game. Eventhough he's the best creator and screen setter on the team. If he doesn't have at least 25 plays run for him a game this season. We need a change. He may never be great defensively but offensively he could be special.
Looking forward to getting Tari's length on the floor for 25 min or so a night. Essentially, Sengun will replace Woods time slot (both 6-10) and Jabari is the true changer in the length on the court replacing Mathews slot so going from 6-5 to 6-10. Should provide the same efficiency from 3 (at least) with that elite defense on the other end. 2021-2022 P.G. - KPJ (6-4) S.G. - JG ( 6-4) S.F. - GM (6-5) P.F. - JT ( 6-4) ..C. - VW (6-10) 2022-2023 P.G. - KPJ (6-4) S.G. - JG (6-4) S.F. - JT (6-4) P.F. - JSJ (6-10) ..C. - AS (6-10) Looking Forward to: P.G. - KPJ (6-4) S.G. - JG (6-4) S.F. - TE (6-8) P.F. - JSJ ( 6-10) ..C. - AS (6-10)
Silas believe in seasoned players not rookies so I think Gordon or Tate will start but when they trade Gordon I believe Tate will take over the starting spot. Eason is great from the bench.
