FYI Josh Bell can actually play LF alittle bit if needed.

I have a hard time seeing Houston adding both Contreras and Bell. Both of those guys need to play every day and neither is a viable option to be the primary LF, so even if Houston expects Brantley to be out the rest of the season it doesn’t make sense to get both. I could see a combo deal with the Cubs to get both Contreras and Happ. Something like Brown, Whitley, and E Valdez for Contreras and Happ.

Seems like a reasonable fit. The Cardinals already have 5 OFers between ages 23 and 27 on the major league roster. If they're will to deal their top remaining OF prospect in the minors (Burleson), that'd be a good match. He's probably a better prospect that I think Odo should return but If the Cards are happy dealing from depth for a need, more power to 'em.

Flip side, I am not remotely sure Burleson would come up immediately and outperform Chas. Chas has been on a tear of late and Burleston will need to make the usual first-call-up adjustments.

If Bell can really handle LF, especially at home with the smaller area to cover out there, then get this damn diddly deal done.

He has played a total of 26 games since being in the Majors.
and close to 50 games in the minors I believe.

Not saying he is an every day starter but he has played in LF.

.... he's played 26 games in the OF in 7 seasons/718 games. 10 of those games were last year and 16 back in 2016. Let's not going penciling him into LF just yet.

Every single person in MLB COULD play LF. Evan Gattis played LF more than Bell, but nobody actually wanted him in LF. Other than Maldy, there isn't a guy on the roster that I think would be worse in LF than Josh Bell.

    Thats Irrelevant
I was just Meraly saying he can.
A rotation of Bell and Yordan would be very well suited if you could make it work.
If your wanting to keep Yuli playing you can rotate them back and forth

Did you miss the Gattis vs. Marisnick debate that lasted until Gattis actually played in the OF for the Astros?

So can I, but nobody has ever needed a left fielder bad enough to play me.

Bell should only be viewed as a potential left fielder in the “all 3 of Brantley, Alvarez, and McCormick are hurt” sense. Would it be the end of the world if he has to play LF in MMP for a few games? Nah. But if the Astros acquire Bell, it will be for him to play 1B every day with Yuli shifting into the bench bat role Matijevic currently occupies.

LF in Minute Maid ain't hard. Just have to figure out the corner of the Crawford boxes.

How are they going to force Dusty to do it this way. Dusty has said he has reservations moving a veteran like Yuli down in the order. Now we expect Dusty to bench him?

Because it is a veteran for a veteran. And even with that anti-rook sentiment, Jeremy Pena is our starting SS.

No way the Cards do this for ODO, but they might for Urquidy, but that’s not enough for Urquidy. Unless somebody gives a stupid return for Bell, I think he is our main target. If its true he can play LF which I haven’t heard before it is a slam dunk he would be our primary target. Happ is another guy we could go hard at.

Pretty sure Crane would let Click fire Dusty if Dusty refused to start Bell.
