I’d be fine with this. If he blows up, he’d be in line for a massive extension at 25/26 years old.

I’m calling you what you are. You were so confident that the rockets would let him walk are trade him. I wanna know where that energy is right now bc you look really dumb with those predictions. It’s almost time to eat crow and accept it

Yep. And if he proves to be a good player and asset to our organization over that time, then I'd have no problem giving him that bigger deal as he hits his prime. If, on the other hand, he plays out like Wood did, then we could always trade him in his final year.

They haven't signed him. Nothing. He's a quitter but not a winner which at least Pippen could say. You can worship a bum all you want.

I really can’t wait to see the number. 1) for the entertainment it will bring me that day reading people complaining & 2) to see how the organization really feels about him

Ditto this could be anywhere from Stone just saying..."Sure let's talk extension" to actually "Wanting to do an extension"....the numbers will tell....

I mean the org knows more about this than anyone here, by a long shot, and if they believe, TRULY believe in KPJ it will be reflected in their approach to the extension.

If they lowball - and they have every right to do so with KPJ's history - then it will say to us that they are still unsure.....if they give him a good to decent offer than it means they like him but still hold some worry - and probably get a couple of Team option years on the backend.....it they give him industry standard for a budding star player then we know they are unconcerned about his transgressions.

    Interesting stuff really.

You’re funny.. there’s plenty of other teams to root for. I bet you love James Harden too, when he’s the definition of a quitter lol

Or Tmac, or Hakeem or Kobe, or ....lots of players have opened a can of quit....when they got frustrated, but it didn't define them for their entire career.

The quality of your posts reflect your basketball acumen.

That you'd rather talk trash than talk basketball just confirms it.

Are you not capable of a single quality basketball post?

    Just give us ONE.

Then you can retire knowing you gave it your all.

And how do you know about the heat index for other teams? It could just as well be that a lot of other teams are trying to trade for him and the Rockets are seeing a lot of interest in him and don’t want to risk a stupid offer like the Knicks with Brunson who doesn’t have near the upside of KPJ.

Judging based on the freezing cold trade market that Christian Wood commanded. I mean, let's be real. KPJ isn't a hot commodity in this league. He's an above average, extremely mercurial guard that isn't particularly explosive or intelligent. There isn't a single thing KPJ does that would move the needle for anyone to take a meaningful flyer on him. If the Rockets don't match a qualifying offer, he'll be likely relegated to bench duty on a team looking for a piece to try and push them over the top (like a 6-8 seed trying to move to 3-4). Maybe like the Grizzlies or Suns needing a spark off the bench. I like him in a Lou Williams/Jamal Crawford type of role. He has bench spark plug (next to barrels full of kerosene) written all over him.

KPJ more upside than Brunson? Oh man. We think differently. Time will tell, but I won't be wrong. I suppose anything can happen, like when people try to tell me that Evan Mobley can be the #1 option on a championship team. I highly highly doubt it, but I guess it could. KPJ will never, ever, ever, be an integral piece to a title winning team. Ever.
