He's a field only guy. You can play him at almost any position and he won't embarrass himself. He is not an everyday player.

Overall, he seems an average utility-bench player. The problem is he's underperformed his career history with the Astros besides BB-K ratio --- the same contact-rate you spoke about when the Yankees IBB'd pinch-hitter Yordan instead of using Dubon)

Chances are... Dubon improves sufficiently from what he's done since joining the team

Yeah. That’s the funny thing, it was literally the only situation you might ever be ok with him being in and he got yanked. Ironic.

Wtf is going on with Alvarez hand? Pretty convinced at this point that they are for sure going to go after Josh Bell for insurance purposes. We will call it like 50% coverage.

Brantley's health covering the other part of that.

They should have already been in the market for a bat to upgrade from Yuli. They should now be in the market for 2 bats.

What's going on is he's injured more greatly than Astros wanna think/say

He prob needs a month off, if not, surgery which would end his season

    Knock on wood

Yordan has a problem with his hammate bone. They're trying to nurse him through the season without him breaking it.

Has that actually been confirmed because I was under the impression their scans revealed it wasn't a serious injury like a Hamate bone.

Give Yordan off for 3 or 4 weeks. Let him heal. We will still have a double digit lead.

If it’s hamate bone the surgery is 6-8 weeks. Tomorrow is the time to do it. the bad news is- although it’s a 6-8 week rehab, the power is sapped for like 12 months.

Resting it for a few weeks may be an alternative. So far we are hearing its not serious according to the xrays. If he needs surgery we are probably not winning the WS. He’s the best hitter in baseball.

Is it just me or is the current pressure on players with swing angle causing a rash of hamate bone injuries over the pats few seasons? Especially power hitters.

Honestly Cole is the only Yankee I can stand, he seems like a pretty humble guy. It helps that we have 2 guys that have been clearly better this season, I think it’s kinda funny that he’s eating up that much payroll to be just pretty good.
