See, Kyrie, Durant doesn't want you. Don't settle for the Nets next season. Force your way to LA. Come back to Papa LeBron.

I really wonder what the Nets' plan is here. As great as KD is I can't see someone trading a young star for him. It just doesn't make sense with him being 34. He could get a career ending injury next year and you'd be screwed.

Career-ending injuries can happen to anyone--nothing suggests Durant is particularly susceptible to one. He suffered a major injury in 2019 and seems to have come back from it just as good as ever. I don't think the Nets can get a "young star" (i.e. someone who has already reached stardom), but I think they can get a few talented young players and a boatload of picks. Or, at least, that's what they should be holding out for--they have Durant on a four-year deal. They're under little time pressure and it just takes one team to decide to cash in their chips for one of the five or ten best players in the game.

My point about injury was more about KD's age and how that affects the championship window of whatever team he goes to. He's already an older guy so a major injury during the playoffs that leads into the next year and drops their win total to a lower seed could mean you basically don't get a real shot at a championship with him.

I agree with the other stuff you said. They can and should get a ton of picks and some good players back. It's just that the reports are that they want a young star as well. They muggy have been able to get something like that if KD was like 30 but any team that gets him is thinking whatever they trade is only for a 2-3 year window.

Kevin Durant Trade Situation Likely Frozen Until His Position Becomes More Clear

The Brooklyn Nets have added a number of supporting pieces in Royce O'Neale, T.J. Warren while re-signing Nic Claxton, Patty Mills and Kessler Edwards, which could make their supporting cast around Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving should they remain on the team next season.

"Looking at the menu of options, the Nets are kind of like 'Kyrie, Kevin, take a look here,'" said Brian Windhorst.

"What I will say is nobody knows what Kevin Durant is thinking right now. His communication with teammates and others in the league has been sparse. I don't even think the Nets have a 100 percent understanding of why Kevin asked for a trade. He spoke to the owner in Joe Tsai and gave a reason, but I'm not sure the Nets are 100 percent on the understanding of it.

"I think the next step in this, barring a team's change of heart to meet the Nets' price, which I don't see at this point on the calendar, I think we're going to have to wait to hear from Kevin Durant about how open he is to running it back with the Nets. And here we go as everybody breaks for summer, sitting and waiting for that to happen."

Windhorst was also asked about a theory from Dave McMenamin that Durant could have requested a trade from the Nets in order to get Irving traded.

"I think there's a reaction in the league to try to fill in the gaps they don't understand. There's not a full understanding of Kevin Durant's motives here. There may be a terrifically great reason why Durant made this choice, but it hasn't been articulated anywhere. If there was a market for Kyrie Irving, that would affect the Nets' reasoning more than anything."

Windhorst also detailed that Durant and Irving were in communication during Irving's contract negotiations with the Nets in June.

The Nets are "not aggressively making outgoing calls" on a Durant trade and many people around the league are going on vacation, leading talks to "slow to a trickle."

They don't even know the NBA is now positionless. What a joke of a franchise.

If KD is frozen it should be easy to know his position.

I just saw an article today saying that the Pistons foundation was very solid with a likely good future having drafted Cunningham/Ivey/Duran.

those idiots right. They should have traded Cunningham for Donovan M and would have did better last year and could have had a pick in the teens this year. Picked Jalen Williams or Ochai Obaji. Much better right!?!?

lol I just hope you’re messing around and not being serious but instead going with a long running joke.

KD should get a Dog, that way he can focus on the Dog and not Attack the Media with his Fake Accounts on Twitter.
KD really needs other hobbies and a Dating life, Social Life instead of smoking weed and being a Loner.
