In Trump they found someone that told them there struggles were not their fault. They found someone that made it okay to hate and discriminate against foreigners, black people, young people, women, gay people and anyone that didn’t look like them. It told them it was okay to not be logical or believe in math or science if they didn’t like facts. In Trump they found someone that said alternative facts were okay and lies are fine as long as they support their positions.

That is what they found in Trump.

Many of them are true victims, but most fail to realize by who. Trump "weaponize" them. Used the big lie to turn their sense of injustice into a violent mob that end up landing them in prison.

The Republican base as a whole continues to be a victim of Trump's predatory egoism.

That was hilarious. He fled...across the hall. He didn't stop until he ran all the way to the West coast. And, why did he do that? No particular reason. He was just out for a run cause he felt like running.

So you believe that the hearings are "comedy," something you can use to amuse yourself and presumably amuse those of a similar bent.

Did you watch the House hearing tonight on the events of January 6th? It was broadcast live on CBS, NBC, ABC and numerous other outlets. It was not broadcast live on Fox News.

I seriously doubt that you would have found it amusing. The witnesses were primarily senior Republican members of the trump's White House staff. Their testimony was utterly damning to trump. The evidence this evening proved beyond doubt that trump not only gathered the mob and sent it to attack the Capital, he refused to do anything to stop the assault once it began and became violent, despite his senior staff, even family members, for hours pleading with him to do so.

You should watch it. Just the last hour is stunning. You might learn something. You might even become concerned for your country. You need to be. We all do.

I don't see how anyone that hears the truth of that day could not want to see Trump charged and convicted. His actions and inactions speak wonders. He cares about Nobody but himself. Nobody. The man will still be saying he won tomorrow. He will continue to lie and try to fool his supporters at his next rally. He is the worst of the worst. No President in history has ever come close to being such a lying selfish power hungry coward of a man as he is. He would watch people die to save face. He did it with his Covid hoax BS and he did it Jan 6th. He will never change. His deranged mind won't let him.

Imagine, that little cowardly weasel of a man supporting Trump after the coup they INCITED saying this...

Imagine Blaming Biden for violence and coddling the man who actually gave the orders to storm the Capitol, sat back and watched the violence for hours, and did NOTHING but tell them he loved them after the coup failed.

Why Donald Trump can’t be prosecuted for ‘dereliction of duty’ for his inaction on Jan. 6

    https://theconversation.com/why-don...tion-of-duty-for-his-inaction-on-jan-6-187407

    excerpt:

While some states, such as Ohio, Texas and Virginia, have a crime titled dereliction or neglect of duty, the concept is better known in military law, where a federal criminal statute prohibits a member of the military from being “derelict in the performance of his duties.”

Under this statute, a soldier, for example, can be found guilty of a crime if the soldier failed to take an action that he or she was legally required to take, such as charging a hill following the order of a commander.

The House committee may conclude that President Trump failed to act by not stopping the rioters, which might be considered a violation of his responsibility under the Constitution.

But in my view, this would not be a criminal dereliction of duty.

The reason is that though a president is commander in chief of the military, he is a civilian and not a member of the military.

As a result, he is not subject to military law.

Federal criminal law does not contain a dereliction of duty statute.

Any state dereliction of duty laws, regardless of their elements, cannot apply to President Trump because on Jan. 6 he was in Washington, D.C. – not in any state, and D.C. doesn’t have one of its own.

A more precise way to consider the legality of President Trump’s conduct on Jan. 6 is to determine whether he wanted the rioters to commit a criminal act and engaged in some speech or behavior that urged them to do so or assisted them in some way.

In that sense, the House Committee might find that the President was derelict.

But that finding would be a label of moral or social disapproval, not a description of a criminal offense.

I went back and skimmed through the beginning of this thread and it's sad to see how little has changed. There were people that day making all sorts of excuses and whataboutism. There was a poster outright sympathetic to the rioters and saying there would be a lot more violence.

Now we still see a lot of excuses and whataboutism along with a lot of misremembering of what actually happened that day.

I hope last night at the minimum made some trump supporters realize what he was really trying to do which was to stay in power at ALL costs. To this day I am amazed and confused that people like Meadows and McConnel spoke so harshly about what he did in real time but to then do a 180 and basically sweep it under the rug is stunning.....now the gop line is "no one cares about this", people want to talk about the price of gas and inflation. They can call it a witch hunt a hoax or whatever else they like but this is real...........thank goodness there were people on board, kudos gop members, who would not go along with it and came forward to speak the truth. The thing that shook me the most were the outtakes of the speech, he simply could not turn on his base and speak the truth, for all the talk about Biden not being cognizant , saying that you cant say "yesterday" because its to hard to say was laughable. Biden deserves the negative comments when he flubs up ( I cringe at times) but lets not forget how many times trump has done the same thing and please LORD, I don't want either one to run in 2024..............IMHO trump is so damaged at this point he cant run..........what say you @MojoMan, we need a good cartoon this am to lift our spirits, democracy was in deep peril and it was saved by quite a few upstanding gop members. I am looking forward to what the MGT and Jim Jordan's of the world have to say about last night

If the choice for president was between Trump and a turd, I’d vote for the turd. I’d rather have a smelly turd as president.

Anyone still not condemning what Trump and his supporters did simply doesn't care about violence, beating police, threatening to hang our Vice President, or inciting a coup to steal an election, as long as it's the GOP and their supporters doing the unthinkable. It's really that simple. There is no excuse for what happened that day! None!

I did not see it, so I do not know what you are referring to. The vast majority of Americans are not following this kangaroo court partisan witch hunt. If you people had any remaining capacity for shame, which you apparently do not, then you would have stopped this foolishness quite a while back.

I know for an established fact, from long experience, that the people conducting this, the media and those people participating in this exercise are truly among the most untrustworthy human beings that our species has ever produced. So any reference to it has all the persuasiveness of the Iraqi information minister, who truly has nothing on any of these people involved in this farce for being devoid of believably or credibility:

Simple question... regardless of how things unfolded...regardless of placing blame on anyone... what do you think about a sitting President refusing to address his supporters for over three hours and asking them to back off even though his family and GOP leadership were begging him to?

This is quite literally the definition of being a cult member. It doesn’t matter what anyone says, never ever question the cult leader. Unable and blissfully unwilling to think, read, process information.
