The worst case scenario with letting BB pitch to Judge was what happened. A 3 run HR. After which you make the pitching change, up 2 runs, bases empty, only needing 2 outs. Of the penalty for gambling and losing is that I still have like a 98% chance of winning the game I’m cool with that. I assume their win probability after the judge AB was high 90’s still. I just looked it up- after the judge HR the win probability was 96.9%. I just don’t get wound up about any decision that can back fire and still lead you to win 29 out of 30 times.
Everyone but Dusty (and you?) could tell that Bielak was toasted at the end of a good outing. He was worn out and throwing BP, the HR was inevitable.
I know the history behind it. I was just shocked to see the pettiness/shamelessness that lurch would still try to keep it going after Altuve had a statement game with the comeback in the 9th of the last game in that series. Weve pretty much mopped them this whole year and he has the gall to do that **** again?

I'm no DUSTY fanboy, but even I think some of the criticism is over the top. Almost as over the top as many of his faithful defenders justifying everything he does.

Whelp the Houston Astros started off the post allstar portion of the season and in one day they managed to secure the home field advantage tie breaker, piss off all Yankee faithful to the point they question why can't they beat the Astros, made Astros fans hate YuIi, question rookie SS Pena, rail on Bergman, blame Pressley wife for giving birth, melting Neris for melting down again, BB made half of CF get their dog to fetch their boots and assume the postion, and CRAZY WILD Dusty Baker drove the bus right into the madness even deeper all day long. Meanwhile ESPN says nothing to see here but Judge home run. I for one will enjoy the ride again today, the season is LONG, .150 hitters can break hearts, somebody can do something special at any moment, and maybe just maybe all of the Astros fans can celebrate a WS victory and not be labeled cheaters despite a big part of the league pretending it was only Astros and a little Red Sox. Then clutchfans can unite for one day. Buckle in because the greatest ride of my hardcore baseball life as still rolling through every loop and dive possible and its not even close to fall.
