He scored 35 against Toronto last season!! Wtf is he talking about?! I’ve seen KPJ abuse Jrue, Lonzo, PJ, Dejounte, Melton, he even got buckets on Jimmy Butler and Dort!

 

So Scoot dropping a 50 burger on Jrue Holiday was not impressive to you? That one was a win by the way vs the world champion Bucks. Oh wait Giannis didnt play so it doesnt count.

In 5 games vs the Raptors Scooter averaged 20/4/4 on 51/45/85 shooting splits
In 7 games vs the Heat he averaged 14/3/3 on 42/40/84 splits (Jimmy Effect?)

I'd be more concerned with some of the splits vs teams like ORL, PHI, WAS or even DEN --- but without going game by game and looking for adequate responses its just easier to say "Kevin Porter Jr sucks" LOL

Idk why people deny his talent so much. It’s really crazy to me. There’s a 25 min video on YouTube of him getting buckets. The guy has the deepest bag on this team by far. There’s not 15 guys in the league that can do what he does, but he just gotta put it all together. I watch every game and it’s so clear, but so many on here are just haters.

 

I sincerely hope you guys are getting paid by him for this. If that's the case at least it makes sense

 

Shhhhh. You cant be positive about KPJ and hope for the best. You need to accept that he's a basket case that is not worth holding onto. His in game accomplishments? Meh. Anyone can do what he does. Throwing chicken nuggets and leaving a game is just the worst possible thing a player could ever do!

That one 50 game was one of the reasons he got the starting PG try out this past year. I wasn't high on kpj, but was still open to set Wall aside so KPJ can get his shot this past season. Honestly KPJ's results this past year was lukewarm.

I said this to DD. I'm OK with other Rocket fans believing he has a higher upside. It's ok to like him, but I also hope you can respect other poster's opinions where we're on the fence about him. This is clutch's thread where he gauging our thoughts.


Looking around the league and if people rank all the guards at the 1 spot, he has a lot of room to go. For a lot of us this might be the final year where he can show if he should be that starting PG.

Also please don't misquote me, I didn't say he 'sucks' and lump me into the category. Just because people aren't as enthusiastic as you about a particular player, doesn't mean anyone is right or wrong.

VC, I mean this with no offense, but you're a very aggressive person to talk basketball with. Particular on specific players like Paolo or KPJ.

We know he can have an occasional good scoring game, but isn't the point of making him the main ball handler is for him to better run the offense for the entire team?

Think few ppl made other threads on kpj but I suppose the hope is he takes a big step forward next year. Because the org has to place a vaule on him with the upcoming extension.

 

Looking great tbh. I was impressed at his catch and shoot accuracy last year. Hopefully all this off season work will translate overall. I'm excited for the season to start.

 

Another solid post. For some reason KPJ'S fans can't handle people having an opposite opinion of him. If you pay attention it's the same group of people so I suspect they work for him on social media. If so that makes sense

 

Looking good. Hoping for a breakout year this year, would be great to be able to say "yep, that's the guy" on Porter and have another piece set.

 

On a good team. 20/6/6 is probably a good, reasonable expectation for KPJ... On a bad team( with limited talent around him) , he's Gilbert Arenas 2.0 ... Dude has skills and his game is intriguing.. I can understand the drooling over him .. But all this, he can be a top NBA player if he can keep his head on straight , crap is ridiculous and delusional.. I get being supportive of your favorite players or young fan favorites, but at least be real with yourselves..

For sure, and even that's a great deal. 20 a year just makes him a top 20 paid starting PG.

All of us are hoping for the best for KPJ, it's just that half of us don't have a strong belief he will succeed based on what we've seen. Poll results tell the story.
