That was because the other guard (Wheeler) Kentucky had couldnt play off the ball and could ONLY play Pg. Coach Cal kept talent on floor and TyTy was good enough to slide over to the 2. He’s stated this multiple times. Context is important.

He’s played PG most of young career as a PG. Hope he proves this at the next level.

Sengun has good instincts defensively but he doesn't have the lateral quickness or speed to hold any guard in this league.

    Almost no centers do.

Also almost no guard could defend Sengun... but I wouldn't expect them to be able to.

Sengun can do what Divac, Brad Miller and Jokic does as a playmaker within a offense that has structure and ball movement... facing the facts that Sengun has weaknesses/holes in his game and hiding them for now while improving them behind the scenes is just as important for his development.

I get that, my point was that the "weakness" in that he can't defend guards out on the perimeter is a "weakness" that just about every center has, no different than how just about every guard has a "weakness" in that they can't defend centers in the post.

For whatever reason the fact that a center can't consistently defend guards on the perimeter is constantly talked about as if it should be expected.

I don't ever expect Sengun to get to that level that was more just me saying Sengun is not the best pure point guard on this team... he's a point forward/point center. Sengun does play good off the ball defense coming over to block shots. For year one Sengun was pretty impressive so saying that it's no telling how good he's going to get all around. Ideally I wish we had a taller center that's serviceable. One we can stick on Jokic, Embiid and the Gobert's of this league. Hell even GS has Looney.

100%. Now I’m excited to see a TyTy-Sengun 2 man game. Pick and roll/fade, and post-ups with Sengun facilitating in the post or scoring.

Sengun is taller than Looney. He also blocks more shots than Looney.

I heard someone in the spaces last night say tyty should start in the g league. I completely disagree. I think he should get back up pg minutes immediately. I hope they don’t go with Nix.

Did you hear that Dwight and Smoove were AAU teammates?

Ty is clearly an NBA player.

My hope is KPJ works out but if not, I think Washington will fix pretty good guard next to Green in the starting lineup in a couple years.

Ty Ty should start in the G-league. I think it would benefit him to get starters minutes for a full G-league season. He won't get those minutes with Nix and KPJ also getting minutes.
We have already heard about how the Rockets feel about Nix. So you should expect that he will be the eventual backup. I think he's earned it.
It just makes sense for the team sake.
