I could accept that. I don’t think Kuminga is in any way better than Sengun though, right now.

Sengun is more skilled, Kuminga can switch on to the perimeter better because of his athleticism.

Sengun's way more of a mismatch for the modern NBA though. Because post-play's so out of fashion barely anybody seems to know how to defend it well. Everybody's so obsessed with fitting into their "modern NBA" template that they seem to forget that predictability is never a good thing in sports. For reference see all of the times Golden State played us out of the playoffs with Harden because we stuck to our template and had no other way of playing. Predictable teams are very easy to beat. Sengun's a mismatch against the majority of people simply because he DOESN'T fit the template, he can eat heartily because defenses don't plan for post play in the same way any more.

Not even mentioning his ability to handle and if his shot develops, that’s a nasty combo.

That's it in a nutshell I think. If he never develops his shot, Sengun's a fringe starter with a unique "special skill" that'll mean he shouldn't struggle to get some playing time simply by virtue of being so hard to guard in the post and being very good at passing out of it. If he develops range though? That's a different tier of player entirely. Somebody who can bomb it from long or take it inside and punish you the majority of the time, and then to have those playmaking skills on top? Potential's there for a seriously potent player if he develops.

I am hoping the undercurrent of disconnect will stay for the team till he is no longer the same player killing his trade value. Nothing against him personally, owning their draft picks makes this enjoyable. Go Rockets

How many times is Woj gonna repackage the same non-news?

BK won’t trade KD for a subpar package, and as of now, no one can or is willing to meet their asking price. Yeah, we got that 2 weeks ago…

    “Tate can’t shoot”
    “Tate isn’t a good shooter”
“Tate doesn’t shoot a high percentage on jumpers”
“Shooting is a weakness for Tate”

    that’s Woj…

stop repackaging the same ol’ sh*t already

they’ve milked this KD thing dry

Pretty much how this should play out. Keep Durant and Irving until someone who feels they'd be a contender with them is willing to pay. This will drag out until the deadline. Unlike Harden who we tried to make work with Wall/Wood, the Nets know Durant wants out. Thing is that it makes no difference to them as with or without him they are headed towards the same fate. Same thing with Kyrie.

The media (or the Lakers through their various mouth pieces) is trying hard to push this Kyrie to the Lakers as some sort of inevitability but they just dont have the assets to pull it off. Portland/Lillard, Toronto, Miami all seem like the most likely targets. Memphis is another or the Suns. Cleveland has the capital as well.

What are some examples of young stars/players yall think could be obtained for the Nets assets+Bucks pick?

If Barnes is truly a no go, what are some others? Would Jaylen Brown be available with Boston getting Brogdon?

What do we think the asset cost for Evan Mobley would be?

Scratch both of those names from your list....

Cleveland struck gold with a versatile big man and are building forwards. No chance he is available.
Brown - even less chance. They just went to the finals and he was great. They are trying to add not subtract

It would be like asking what Minnesota's price for Ant Edwards is.
    Not
    For
    Sale

The Nets keeping Durant and Irving for now is a good thing for the Rockets. Durant has been very injury prone in his past 2 seasons, and has essentially been missing 50% of the season every season since his achilles injury.

If Brooklyn wants to get a favorable package, they need to wait for contending teams to emerge next season that feel they are one Durant away from a championship, and have the assets available to do so without jeopardizing those chances. However, that also means they have incentives to keep Durant away from the court, since Durant loses practically all value if he ever gets injured, and he's currently very prone to injury.

I can see Brooklyn doing this since they are only up for a pick swap this season, so there are scenarios where sitting Irving and Durant out isn't going to hurt them that much.

Are you looking for established young players or young potential guys??
The thing to bear in mind is that we have 9 guys 21 and under already... and KPjr is 22. There is plenty of youth with room to grow. My guess is we want to feature those 9 or 10 guys before exploring new avenues? If they don't work out well, the cue will get put in the rack post all star game and we will shoot for a top 5 pick again, which adds another high level talent to the equation.

I just don't see the space for another young guy to play this season anyway, let alone a way to get a young player who is already developed...

All they are getting is a poo-poo platter no matter which team they finally agree to terms with.

No team is offering a top tier player in exchange for Durant, the idea is to pair Durant with those players.

No team is giving up a "Harden Haul" of draft picks either. They are offering "a couple picks" not 3-4 and swaps.

When it finally happens, it's gonna be something like:

PHX: Mikal Bridges, Landry Shamet & Torrey Craig plus 2 picks.

Miami: Lowry, Duncan Robinson & a couple picks.

Toronto: OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr another $1.7m in salary plus 2 picks.

GSW: Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody plus 2 picks.

You might add a swap or two to any of those deals but that's the kinda crap they can expect in return.

No one is beating down their door to give a Jimmy Butler and / or Scottie Barnes.

They will get a poo-poo platter and a couple draft picks .... and nothing more.
