I think the reality of the situation is that we're heading towards a DeSantis presidency. Whether you agree with that or not, I'm curious to understand how people think it would be different than Trump given how much they claim to be similar.

Will DeSantis sing the same election fraud stories? Take an anti-NATO, pro-Russia and pro-Saudi stance? We know he is extremely right-wing and will do much to prioritize fighting the culture wars, but I'm more curious is how far he'll go in terms of abuse of power.

Is his treatment of Disney and the Special Olympics harbingers of who he will be as a president?

He’s more competent than Trump so you’ll get all of the corruption, hate, bigotry, and rights restrictions but it will be much more efficient.

The Democrats better hope Trump wins the nomination because if he doesn’t DeSantis is exactly who were going to get.

He’s literate which is a plus. But can also be dangerous considering what we just saw the dumbest president in US history do after getting smoked in an election.

He's a rational actor with ties to the American military and elite academia. That matters a lot when comparing him to Trump. I'd be fearful of what he'd want to accomplish, but I also don't think he'd be driven by pure id and vanity like Trump was. He wouldn't brag about "love letters" from Kim Jong-Un, undermine US intelligence in front of adversaries, etc.

I get the feeling he would be trump light, not as dumb and crooked but very far right. My biggest question is would he try and unify America and change his stance on a few things or simply double down on what he is doing in Fl........I for one think its stupid for the government to get involved in private business like Disney simply because they don't like a stance the company makes, that is over reach IMHO and is simply pandering to the base which I am sick of. He would be a slick version of trump minus the stupid crap he did daily........you can bet everyone in Washington is taking notes on what NOT TO DO so you don't get caught. I would prefer trump to run because he would be divisive to the gop. I fear we will not have a prez or government who tries to unify the left and the right, its simply us vs them..........red vs blue.......crips vs bloods

His ability to speak in complete sentences and appears to be literate. Other than that, he could actually be much much worse.

I do think Biden has good intentions as far as doing what's right and working both sides of the aisle but then politics take over and the gop wont pass anything that would benefit the USA. Has he been perfect, hell no, but I do think that any president gets blamed for things out of there control......its how you react that is important. I think Biden is past his prime and the old days of reaching across the aisle are over, there are plenty of good republicans but they get blasted as RINO`s if they don't kiss the ring of the king. I may not agree with someone like Romney or Cheney but you can have an honest debate with them............then you have people like Bobert and MTG who are just around to spread the big lie and conspiracy theories and you cant reason with people like that, the gop seems to be gaining those types as the older respectable gop members are leaving.

I don't think I'll like his presidency at all. But, I don't expect him to be any more corrupt than your average president. Maybe over-reaching executive orders, 'novel' regulatory interpretations, some bullying of state governors, and of course politically-motivated judge appointments and the like. But no election denying, no bribing foreign governments for personal gain, no orders to Cabinet members to do plainly illegal things, no incitements of violence from the public, no using police agencies to physically intimidate the public or other elected officials. At least, no more than one would expect from an average president. He's not Trump. The way he used his official powers to punish Disney was a huge ethical failing and a cause for concern, but it's still minor league compared to Trump. I think he'd balk at crossing some of the lines that Trump crossed without batting an eye. He'll push the Republican advantage on reproductive rights, culture war issues, tax policies to favor the rich, undermine the social safety net, expand gun rights, oppress migrants, accelerate climate change, and a bunch of other stuff I think will be very bad for the country, but I think he'll accomplish that while mostly coloring inside the lines.
