Frustrating loss, especially because this was such a winnable game. Odorizzi was great for the first 5.1, and then bad defense really hurt the team. As we've all noted, the usually spectacular defense has been not as good as we had been accustomed to as of late. Time for a much-needed break.
Got to get YA back and figure out what is going on with Brantley. This is not our standard eight out there right now so I’ll not be jumping out of any windows any time soon.
All Star break couldn’t come sooner. This team has been playing really sloppy and undisciplined baseball for a few weeks now. And for Christ’s sake can those stupid Mariners lose a game for once?!?
Going with JJ was the right call, Trevino has been awful vs lefties I don’t understand Montero for two innings, but whatever When healthy we are the best team in baseball
They certainly do need to rest up and kind of un**** themselves over the break (mentally and physically), but there's no sky-falling bullshit going on. Also curious to see what the FO does in the next 2 weeks.
This is certainly true, the team is a little sloppy and unfocused right now. Over 162 games spells like this happen and isn't anything to be concerned with, doesn't mean it isn't frustrating to watch
Seattle fans are going to be very baseball horny to face the Astros next weekend ridding a 14 game winning streak and a chance to make things interesting in the division.
You don’t have to understand baseball to be frustrated and post it. It’s Fair game for frustrated fans, I get it. Your post is to mean that baseball is wacky and the best teams don’t always beat the bottom dwellers which is true and is common knowledge in baseball but posting frustration doesn’t align with baseball ignorance.
They've looked pretty cooked since the 4th, so the break this year couldn't have come at a better time.
2017 Astros: 11-17 August 2018 Astros: 27-23 July/August 2019 Astros: 15-12 June 2020...whatever 2021 Astros: 29-25 August/September 2022 Astros: 11-10 May (we'll see)
I’m glad to see we can pretty much all agree that this team REALLY needs the days off. Hey at least we didn’t get to b**** about Dubon today am I right?
No need to panic but that was an extremely frustrating series. Mariners are playing out of their minds to "come" within 9 games of the Astros. If they keep that pace up they are on right now then crown them champs. The division shouldn't be a concern but this team needs some upgrades to feel better about a championship run.
