Even CNN, the news that loves democrats is saying hey if we want to stay in power…reject the wokeness https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/12/politics/woke-green-new-deal-defund-the-police/index.html When your own side of the political fence is warning about the wokes nonsense that is saying something tbh..given this was a year ago but the implications is this year 2022 mid terms
Wokeness doesn’t sell luxury items The Lane Bryant shoppers aren’t going to spend extra money for Victoria Secret’s just because their ads use the same models now luxury brands market exclusivity not inclusivity They don’t market Rolex watches to janitors Do we need janitors ? Yes Are they the audience for Rolex? No @Os Trigonum
Funny how none of them replied to this...and instead just keep pushing out the same tired talking points over and over again. I mean it's obvious, VS is a company, they will do what makes them the most money first and foremost, they don't care about any of these social issues, they want to make money. They realized what they used to do wasn't making them money anymore and they changed it. If it were as successful as these guys were claiming they change nothing. They have such a surface level of things, they see a decrease and immediately try to put it on WOKENESS but then will ignore the increase. For example. Lightyear, didn't do as well, now people in the know will give you several reasons as to why this is...but Love and Thunder? Best selling Thor movie and this is with a FEMALE Thor leading the way and the movie being 'Woke'...do we see the Disney thread bumped? Of course not, doesn't fit the narrative, do we see random joe making a video about it? Nope. If 'WOKENESS' was so bad then Love and Thunder would have failed, except it didn't, because a lot of times when these things fail there are several reasons and not one easy digestible reason that can be summed up in a buzzword that gets hammered into their heads over and over again.
Then why do you keep @mentioning me? lol. It's hilarious how much @AroundTheWorld has to announce in every thread that he can't see my posts because he has me on ignore. It always gives me a chuckle to see how after 20 years I am still in people's heads even when I don't want to be.
That's because there are just here to troll. Frankly I am a bit disappointed with @ROXRAN - that when I showed him he was wrong with numbers he still didn't budge. But I guess that goes to show that I am wasting my time here. Carry on.
What progress is made when the numbers indicate they had a quarter loss compared to last year and still fired hundreds this year? The company is struggling regardless of any minuscule progress - Let’s wait an entire year and see if there’s any kind of progression because I think we need to wait at least a year past hundreds of jobs being lost and revenue falling short - This is clear cut evidence of numbers that are contradictory of you thinking VS is doing well
You don't understand what the numbers actually mean. The company is still doing well. "For the three-month period ended April 30, net income was $76.14 million, or 93 cents per share, compared with net income of $174 million, or $1.97 per share, a year earlier. Excluding one-time items, Victoria’s Secret earned $1.11 per share, ahead of the 84 cents that analysts expected."
No I’m a business person myself I know it’s easy to talk about sales On a three month basis but let’s talk about what’s happening a year or even two years since the business association with Megan Rapino… A company doesn’t eliminate hundreds of positions if it’s doing well… There’s still a quarter profit loss of this year versus last year go that goes in the wrong direction in addition
There was no loss. Company was doing poorly. It made significant changes. Company rebounded and turned things around. Company had a small drop in sales in Q1 but still doing much better than it was before it made said changes. How can you now argue that the changes didn't help? That makes no sense.
If I had a business and I let go nearly 200 people in good positions with the company is that because my business is doing well ? The answer is no - If I am having quarterly earnings less than what I did last year compared to the same quarter that does not suggest my business is doing well or trending in the right direction
I’ll give credit that the company is trying to do something different as far as firing people at least but the reality is being associated with Megan Rapinoe has done nothing positive for them and especially considering the job loss
They went from losing money to being profitable. Not sure how you can make that claim. Maybe she hasn't had a positive impact, but again, I don't think you can make that claim. As someone who works in marketing, it's far more complex than what you can get from looking at earnings reports.
Who's passionate about VS? We're having a debate here about facts not about whether we love or hate VS. I think VS is a **** brand with low quality, and that's why they struggled.
2020 losing money, 2021 rebounded and made some money at least, how’s 2022? The Company is forecasting first quarter 2022 sales to be in the range of $1.425 billion to $1.495 billion versus first quarter 2021 sales of $1.554 billion. At this forecasted level of sales, operating income is expected to be in the range of $80 million to $110 million compared to $225.7 million in 2021,… if my math is right they are projecting to do over $100 million less in one quarter plus they let hundreds go This is a company with instability on earnings and employment conditions- This is not a good trend
Maybe. Quarterly earnings in retail typically fluctuate wildly quarter by quarter. Especially in Q1 they go down. That's why you look over YOY sales. Layoffs don't always mean a company is doing poorly. Many times, successful growing companies need to lay off people as it creates efficiencies by removing redundant roles. My point is, you can't just read into the numbers you are presenting the way you are.
It sounds like @Sweet Lou 4 2 should have a drawer filled with Megan Rapinno panties But that’s not going to save the jobs of 160 management employees it’s like they wanted to promote the rockets by marketing draymond green @Os Trigonum
