This phenomenon is what kept/is keeping cops from working for 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 weeks at a time. The same anti-vax cops that were crying about wearing masks and businesses being closed and teachers wanting to take off (their babysitting) are the same ones milking paid sick time.
Tested negative this morning on a rapid test. So I think it's finally over. I'm getting heavily pressed by clients to meet in person and I need to make site visits. I'll probably just wear a mask for today to be on the safe side but if nothing changes by tomorrow will probably just go back to being maskless and return to previous activities.
I don't know if this is a lingering effect of COVID or that I drank very little alcohol for more than two weeks but my tolerance for alcohol has gone way down. The other night I was out with a friend who I outweigh by probably 60 lbs. She easily outdrank me and I felt very tipsy after only three beers. She even embarrassed me by finishing my last Guinesss. Just an FYI I had the feeling that my tolerance would be down so we Ubered.
You are just getting old bro . Welcome to the club. With practice, you can get back to peak performance.
whelp, have just tested positive for the 4th time. some sniffles and a sore throat. about 6-7 weeks ago, my wife and son both caught covid, but consistently tested negative. however, during their infection, I experienced an extreme sudden onset of vertigo, which completely incapacitated me for about 4 days. could not drive for two weeks, and I'm still experiencing some mild symptoms (occasional slight nausea). One of my docs said they'd seen a cluster of vertigo cases around the same time, it was likely viral, and possibly a symptom of long covid. last weekend we drove to NYC and had a family dinner with old friends. of the twelve people there, 4 have thus far tested positive, and there's a likely 5th case. one of the four had avoided it until now. and at least one of the four (not the same one) has had four shots.
this has been my experience as well, particularly since my third bout. it's perhaps a blessing in disguise, but distressing nonetheless.
Sorry, man, and hope you're better soon. I had something akin to vertigo when I had it the first and only time (I'm aware of) back in June of 2020 (OG Covid). It felt like something was wrong with the way I was walking even though I was walking normally. That and the screwing up taste and smell were concerning, particularly back then when it was all new and relatively unknown, because I realized it was attacking my nervous system. Hadn't really experienced anything like that before.
I've been fortunate with the taste thing; my sense of smell has actually been enhanced, or at least some things are more intense now. this may not be universally positive.
New personal experience to report, sadly. My mom is 85 and she was vomiting all last night…tested positive for COVID today. Not great, Bob.
very sorry to hear this; has she had it before? highly recommend paxlovid, particularly for someone that age. #bewell unironically.
Hope its a mild case and she recovers quickly. I have a coworker just test positive today. Luckily we're remote because I work closely with her. I had a bad case of vertigo last year, first time ever, about 2-3 weeks post covid. I never put the 2 together before catching up on this thread. It was HORRIBLE and I hope I never have it again.
My blood pressure has been higher than it was a few years ago, don’t know if it’s because of Covid Also can’t tell if the allergies are worse or I’m more sensitive to pollen No issues traveling a lot lately and eating like a king , Morimoto in Napa
I've had the same experience with BP and allergies. the latter have been extreme the past three years. some say climate change, I say covid. I was in Napa in the fall, but limited myself to lunch at Gott's (the OG one in St. Helena); did morimoto in Manhattan in the before times.
