Game sucked, but big shout out to @Wulaw Horn for the tickets. Got a night out with my dad with them! Edit: please don't ask him for tickets.
He is neither a serious downgrade from Correa nor has a noodle arm, at least if you believe stats and not the Derek Jeter barometer. Would like him to clean up his errors though, it's stopping him from being the best defensive shortstop as opposed to just really good.
It's not just Pena, the last 2 weeks of Astros defense has been totally putrid. Not at all what we are accustomed to. But at least they make up for that by being total ****ing idiots on the bases and at the plate and on the mound. How this team isn't on a 2-8 stretch I have no idea.
Have to assume this is a long term injury for Brantley. Do we try and go after Josh Bell, Contreras, Benintendi. They would be costly additions.
Same, thanks for the great seats @Wulaw Horn ! Guessing my girlfriend and I were sitting next to y'all last night, I think your dad tried to grab one of my tallboys as we were getting into our seats We are in the same section Sunday and taking the younger nieces and nephews so it was very nice to have an adult night out before family day this weekend. Such an amazing gesture, thanks again!
Yeah I think the team as a whole has entered into a lull, not sure the focus is there, at least not at the level you would like. Still have almost half the season left and the games don't feel very important because we've got such a big lead. We've also been playing a lot of bad teams. Even as a fan I've kinda checked out of this last week or so.
My pleasure. Sorry it was a dog of a game but glad y’all enjoyed. usually it’s a game day deal. I always post in game thread and season thread when I have availability. mid you or anyone you know need a mortgage hit me up. That’s why I have the season tickets for customers/entertaining etc. sometimes plans fall through and I have last minute availability.
So, Jose won't play in the All-Star game because he was hit on the leg. But, he will play today and tomorrow. Makes sense. Sounds like someone doesn't want to go to the All-Star game.
Or it sounds like someone who wants to help the team he plays for while skipping a meaningless game to rest so that he can, once again, help the team he plays for. Or, you're right and he doesn't want to go. Regardless of which version of the story is true, I am glad he isn't playing. I'm glad that Alvarez isn't in the homerun derby (though it sucks he is out). And I'm glad that it looks like JV won't be pitching. Hopefully Valdez and Tucker go and get their one inning in, go home and get some rest. That's a lot of traveling for them in a short amount of time. Has to be exhausting.
I've never paid attention to Caleigh Griffin before, is she this bad during Rockets games? She was struggling mightily with the english language during the bit I saw of her right before the game.
