They also were based on lies. BLM was based on saying that Trayvon Martin was killed in a racist attack and really came to fame when they pushed the debunked narrative that gentle giant Michael Brown was murdered with his hands up because a racist cop didn't like him walking in the street. Nearly every case cited by BLM turns out to be a justifiable homicide where the "victim" was attacking the "racist murderer". Of those that don't turn out that way, you have things like Brianna Taylor, who was killed when she was standing next to her boyfriend who was shooting a police officer and was hit by return fire. Of course, they even lied about that and said racist cops broke into her house serving a search warrant on the wrong house and killed her while she was asleep in her bed. True, they did a lot more than that. They started race riots that got people killed. They got people fired for no reason. They tried (thankfully largely unsuccessfully) to push communism as a legitimate political stance. Just grifting people would have been a vast improvement.
It is real dumb and real dangerous. I guess you missed several years in the United State. There were billions of dollars in damage and dozens of lives were lost.
Where did all money donated to BLM go? I'll give you a hint - it didnt go to any Black Lives Matter causes...
How much intellectual curiosity do have on this subject matter to make such a definitive claim? These students didn't donate any money. They were expressing an idea. Again, your logic makes no sense. How many right wing grifts are there especially from the Trump campaign? Are you going to dismiss all conservative or right wing causes because some people monetize off of them?
While there was certainly some questionable expenses, to say none of the money went to BLM causes is flat out wrong. A lot of money was distributed to various BLM foundations in various cities.
After Raising $90 Million in 2020, Black Lives Matter Has $42 Million in Assets The organization offered the first official accounting of its finances recently, disclosing a filing to the I.R.S. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/17/business/blm-black-lives-matter-finances.html excerpt: In 2021, the foundation released its own report, not a mandatory federal tax filing but a voluntary accounting of its funds, in which it said that it raised $90 million in 2020, with the average donation being $30.64. At that time, the group said that it spent $8.4 million on operating expenses while disbursing $21.7 million in grants to about 30 organizations and to 11 Black Lives Matter chapters around the country. On the tax form, the foundation said that for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, it received contributions and grants totaling $76.9 million, with total expenditures of $37.7 million. Those expenses included grants of $500,000 each to Black Lives Matter groups in Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit and elsewhere. Jacob Harold, a nonprofit expert, said he was struck in particular by the number of paid employees listed on the form, which was just two, versus the number of volunteers, which was 49,275. “That ratio pretty much tells the story right there,” Mr. Harold said. Two paid staff members would rarely be enough to manage a $90 million organization. “This 990 tells a story of weak nonprofit governance,” he said. Justin Hansford, a professor at the Howard University School of Law, said the stakes were high because the public could not always differentiate between the Black Lives Matter movement and one specific organization. “It’s extremely important to have transparency and good governance at any organization with this level of global fame,” said Mr. Hansford, who is also executive director of the Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Center. “The credibility of the entire movement is at stake based on these choices, for better or worse.” But he added, “They deserve a little grace here. As protesters suddenly given a windfall of money, they had to learn how to manage a large nonprofit on the fly, and it’s a lot to ask.” more at the link
Let's be real here. Nothing about the story with the BLM sign has anything to do with donations. They were expressing an idea/cause.
Lol.. my logic? Show me where they gave money to "Black causes" or to HELP the Black community. lol...read your own statement. BLM just gave their money to BLM.... What causes did they actually give money to besides lining their own pockets?
The various BLM organizations they gave money to used it to advance their cause, spread their message, work in the community, etc. You know.... just like many charitable organizations.
A fair amount also went to bailing people out. Many of whom were arrested and beaten for petty offenses like violating curfew or insulting cops.
Something about this is off, did the 7year old do that to somebody else's drawing? Or did she add something to her own drawing and somebody else took it home? If she added that to somebody else's drawing she should be punished and it has nothing to do with what she wrote its about defacing somebody else drawing. If it's her own artwork they really overreacted, if she wrote on somebody else drawing this is what should have happened for defacing others' property.
Here's a better explanation https://adnamerica.com/en/californi...ader-writing-any-life-her-blm-drawing-did-not
What you don't understand is that it's not about agreement if it was not BLM it would be something different.
Ok the school and the other kid's parents overreacted, there was no need to punish the child it could have been a great teaching moment for the entire class. About why all lives matter and why BLM is actually a thing.
The backlash to BLM is pretty consistent to conservatives constant whataboutism;both with criticisms of their own politicians and solutions. If you have social programs for immigrants or single moms for instance theyll ask "why arent we giving money to vets?" Despite being "small govt" they have no issue with police brutality
Advance their cause = stack up to build their multi-million dollar mansions Spread their message = "everyone not black is racist" i.e. spreading hate and division Work in the community = ok, i'll give you this... building their mansions did provide jobs.
