I am a minority, I am more of a minority than blacks...I am more qualified to comment on minority behavior and CRT than most people on CFs. I am a believer in personal responsibility. It's very easy to be a law abiding citizen, very easy. I don't hate minorities, I root for them, I cheer for them, I want them to succeed...but I do hate punks.
That statement reveals much more about you than I think you realize. I admit I am curious as to what your qualifications are Most people who say they believe in personal responsibility mean that only when they apply to groups they criticize, but never to themselves. You say that "they" are taught not to take personal responsibility - presumably to use racism as a crutch and excuse to fail and get away with criminal behavior. But you fail to acknowledge that your assessment is purely subjective and not based on any kind of objective science. Which to me, sounds highly irresponsible.
Don't lecture me, I said what I said, and I mean what I said. I don't tolerate excuses. Don't break the law, don't blame others or society for when you break the law. It's easy to do. That applies to everybody. There's no objective science to it - that's the problem, trying to applying formulas and statistics to an attitude based problem. I don't know you, I don't know what your race is (nor does it matter), but typically it's white liberals that like to lecture minorities the most on how they should feel or how they should think.
Actually applying science, studies, and research with the statistics is way to try and solve the problems you are talking about.
Note is a black man that posted this video - he is responsible enough to know that blaming societal issues on whites is ridiculous.
Imagine if all the responsible humans on this planet who make decisions all ubiquitously held this mindset. Society would be doomed. We would be a civilization that just constantly chases our tails never solving systemic issues.
Florida Rejects 41 Percent of Submitted Math Textbooks Because They Contain CRT, Common Core, and Social Emotional Learning In a major announcement, the Florida Department of Education said they have rejected 41% of proposed K-12 mathematics books intended for use during the 2022-2023 public school year. These books did not meet state academic standards due to their apparent inclusion of Critical Race Theory principles and other controversial approaches to education. The statement from Florida’s Department of Education reads: “Reasons for rejecting textbooks included references to Critical Race Theory (CRT), inclusions of Common Core, and the unsolicited addition of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in mathematics.” “The highest number of books rejected were for grade levels K-5, where an alarming 71 percent were not appropriately aligned with Florida standards or included prohibited topics and unsolicited strategies,” Florida’s D.O.E. added. “It seems that some publishers attempted to slap a coat of paint on an old house built on the foundation of Common Core, and indoctrinating concepts like race essentialism, especially, bizarrely, for elementary school students,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) said in a statement.
This is a case of GOP propaganda spamming boogyman phrases over and over. Ask 98% of GOP voters what is wrong with common core math or what is CRT and expect a generic empty talking point.
He's not, him and I already discussed it. Fully private education would mean half this country would attend Christian madrassas and attend Liberty, Oral Roberts, or Bob Jones. American education, already a mess, would fall in standards even more. If the US loses what advantage we have in education on the collegiate level, we're completely ****ed.
First Grader Disciplined for “Any Life” Matters Drawing, Mother Sues School The principal forced the girl to make a public apology to her classmates and was banned from recess that day. https://www.theroot.com/first-grader-disciplined-for-any-life-matters-drawing-1849183040 excerpt: The mother of a 7-year-old girl is suing her elementary school after they forced her to make a public apology after writing “any life” on a Black Lives Matterdrawing, according to the Daily Mail. The incident itself is a year old but another parent had just told her what happened recently. Chelsea Boyle’s daughter, a student at Viejo Elementary School in Mission Viejo, was disciplined after one of her friends took home the drawing she made. The original drawing had the words “Black Lives Matter” accompanied by four shapes in various shades of brown, intended to represent her Black and brown friends, according to the Daily Mail. Right in between the “BLM” and shapes, Boyle’s daughter penciled in “any life.” As a result, school principal Jesus Becerra punished the girl by ordering her to publicly apologize to her classmates and she was banned from recess that day. *** See, this is where critical race theory would come in handy. more at the link
The right wing hysteria over CRT is so pathetic, we all went through school learning what real history was.........why cant these kids? I dont get the whole "woke" thing, but isnt that what this is.......parents cant handle there kids are learning that some of our ancestors treated people of different colors poorly and even bought and sold them? The truth hurts but its the TRUTH, learn about history or your doomed to repeat it.
So the kid defaced property with an insensitive message meant to belittle the challenges faced by certain segments of our society? She shouldn't be punished for the message, but she be taught why that BLM message exists. The child should be disciplined for defacing the property.
This is a terrible take. She didn’t “deface” anything but a poster. And all lives do matter. Imagine getting in trouble for saying that all lives matter. What a ****ed up world. I think BLM got what they wanted. Lots and lots of money from stupid white people.
I was taught about slavery in school. I was taught about the inequality and the jim crow laws. I learned about frederick douglass and booker t washington and harriet tubman. We watched follow the north star and sounder in class. We knew all about george washington carver. All about john brown and harpers ferry. We learned all of it. We learned about martin luther king and exactly what he stood for. Its still taught today.
