Considering how often he is injured, Trout is bordering on being too expensive to trade also, even as good as he is when healthy

With Uncle Mike's injury seeming worse than they have let on, I think a guy like Brandon Drury is becoming more and more of a target

Could play LF basically every day while we wait on Brantley/Alvarez to get back. And when we do get fully healthy, he would definitely be an upgrade with the bat over Dubon as a utility guy

Maybe Peter Soloman and a lower level guy Cincy happens to like

    OR

Chas, Melendez and a lower level guy to Chicago for Happ. Happ is still arb eligible next year so isn't a rental, but he is another bat that would help. The downside here as opposed to Drury, is if we get back to full health Happ becomes a true bench guy, cause he doesn't have the versatility of Drury

My Trade of Value would be
Andrew Benintendi and Prospect C Carter Jenson
    for
    Jose Urquidy and J.J Matejevic

    then follow that up with
Forest Whitley, Chas McCormick and Phil Maton
    for
Blake Snell and Robert Hassell III

    last
Jake Odorizzi, Alex Santos, Tyler Ivey and Peter Soloman
    for
Brandon Drury, And Prospects Jackson Miller C and Bryce Bonnin

I would then roll with what I have call Up Hunter Brown and Rionel Blanco

This is all we would need to have a WS team regardless of who else gets added to other clubs

Agree on Benintendi and keeps him away from the Yankees as well.

Apparently after they found out that Benintendi wasn't vaccinated they're moving on. Sure they still have a couple of weeks to change their minds but we'll see. Also how would that work for Toronto? They were rumored to be interested. Can't come to Canada as a visitor but if he got traded to Toronto he could play since he's working in Canada now?

Also back to the Yankees, back plan if they couldn't get Benintendi was David Peralta. Don't want him but would be funny if Astros acquired him to troll them. But then again, that might make them say f it, Benintendi it is and hope they don't play Toronto.

He could not play in Toronto, the Jays have taken the same stance as the Yankees and said they no longer have interest

Honestly, I would not either. I just can't see giving up prospects for a guy and then potentially getting into a playoff series and he can't play the road games

My guess is he ends up getting moved to an NL club

Yeah but now they're prob gonna turn around and acquire Castillo which would be even worse.

Benentendi is a singles hitter with an unsustainable BABIP this season.

He's just a solid starter, and doesn't even provide any positional flexibility. Wouldn't mind having him, but sure as hell am not giving up anything remotely significant.

That's one way to get traded I guess...

If the Royals are expecting a lot, they are going to be let down.

He is a free agent that doesn't hit for any real real power.

He is going to be a free agent.

The Royals have asked him to be vaccinated numerous times and he isn't

Having said that...... if the Astros can get him for what is essentially filler, they should do it.

He can spot play centerfield, he is insurance for Brantley or an Alvarez injury.

The Astros could on occasion run an outfield of: Brantley Benintendi Tucker

    Altuve
    Brantley
    Alvarez
    Tucker
    Bregman
    Benintendi
    Gurriel
    Pena
    Maldonado

"So I'm willing to get it because I know it's harmless, but it would be mildly inconvenient and I don't really give a f**k if the Royals win games or not"

Actually, he spoke pretty well about his personal choice and how he views it. Let's not make this a political board again, there are places for that here on CF. It's been much better in here since people quit blasting others for their personal views.

As for Merrifield the player, he has been much better lately but still having a poor year. Does give some versatility though and I am a bit surprised how cheap his contract is. Controlled next year still so will probably command a bit more in return that I would want to give up for him, given the season he is having

If Benintendi's market craters I would take the gamble. I suspect an NL team will be willing to give up more.

Yup... Merrifield's value was pretty high a couple years ago.
