This might be the most clear cut case of projection I've ever seen on this board.

hmm...what is weird to me is that you claim you are not watching the hearings, but you keep posting in this thread and putting up every single article about the hearings that you can find.

Even AOC Is Doing A Better Job Questioning Capitol Security Features Than The Theatrical J6 Committee

    https://thefederalist.com/2022/07/14/even-aoc-is-doing-a-better-job-questioning-capitol-security-features-than-the-theatrical-j6-committee/

    excerpt:

In a follow-up interview with Punchbowl News on Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez shared more words on Capitol security, complaining her office had to call Capitol Police “five times in order to get them to ask for this person’s information.” The incident, she said, only contributes to her feeling unsafe.

“Ocasio-Cortez also complained that – in her view – some of the security lapses present during the Jan. 6 insurrection still haven’t been fixed,” Punchbowl reported, quoting the representative as saying “Every day we see these huge gaping holes. … They and many of these people were sassing our office back, asking us why we want this information. This is not about us attacking this information. This is about mitigating threats.”

If only there were a Select Committee established in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot to investigate the security lapses that literally opened the door to the turmoil. . . .

    Lost, Not Stolen (lostnotstolen.org)
As part of his post-election attempts to retain the presidency, Donald Trump and his supporters filed 64 cases containing 187 counts in the six key battleground states, in addition to utilizing some of the recount and contest procedures available to them under state law. The former president maintains to this day that the 2020 election was stolen and the results fraudulent.

This Report takes a hard look at the very serious charges made by Trump and his supporters. The consequences of a president and a major party candidate making such charges are monumental. If true, our electoral system is in desperate need of repair. If not true, that must be said because such false charges corrode our democracy and leave a significant share of the population doubting the legitimacy of our system, seriously weakening the country. To have 30 percent of the country lack faith in election results based on unsubstantiated claims of a “stolen” election is not sustainable in a democracy, and it discredits the political party making those charges. We hope that setting out the full record in this Report will help restore faith in the reliability of our elections.

    Introduction
We are political conservatives who have spent most of our adult lives working to support the Constitution and the conservative principles upon which it is based: limited government, liberty, equality of opportunity, freedom of religion, a strong national defense, and the rule of law. We have become deeply troubled by efforts to overturn or discredit the results of the 2020 Presidential Election. There is no principle of our Republic more fundamental than the right of the People to elect our leaders and for their votes to be counted accurately. Efforts to thwart the People’s choice are deeply undemocratic and unpatriotic. Claims that an election was stolen, or that the outcome resulted from fraud, are deadly serious and should be made only on the basis of real and powerful evidence. If the American people lose trust that our elections are free and fair, we will lose our democracy. As Jonathan Haidt observed, “We just don’t know what a democracy looks like when you drain all the trust out of the system.” Paul Kelly, “Very Good Chance” Democracy Is Doomed in America, Says Haidt, AUSTRALIAN (July 20, 2019)

We therefore have undertaken an examination of every claim of fraud and miscount put forward by former President Trump and his advocates, and now put the results of those investigations before the American people, and especially before fellow conservatives who may be uncertain about what and whom to believe. Our conclusion is unequivocal: Joe Biden was the choice of a majority of the Electors, who themselves were the choice of the majority of voters in their states. Biden’s victory is easily explained by a political landscape that was much different in 2020 than it was when President Trump narrowly won the presidency in 2016. President Trump waged his campaign for re-election during a devastating worldwide pandemic that caused a severe downturn in the global economy. This, coupled with an electorate that included a small but statistically significant number willing to vote for other Republican candidates on the ballot but not for President Trump, are the reasons his campaign fell short, not a fraudulent election.

It's two months. Chill. She participated in a break in of the Capitol building. Two months seems very fair. I'm not sure what is wrong with this exactly?

Commodore is 2 months late with the victimizing narrative. I think it's fair. Sounds like she got carried away with the crowd.

BOISE, Idaho — A Boise woman who participated in the January 6, 2021, siege at the U.S. Capitol will serve two months in jail and three years probation as part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.

Senior Judge Royce Lambert of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Tuesday sentenced Pamela Hemphill for one misdemeanor count of demonstrating, parading or picketing in the U.S. Capitol Building. Three other counts were dropped under the plea agreement. In addition to jail time and probation, the judge ordered Hemphill to pay $500 restitution.

In Tuesday morning's sentencing hearing, the prosecutor said certain aspects of Hemphill's conduct at the Capitol put her case in a different category. Hemphill "repeatedly turned to police for help while simultaneously undermining their efforts" and bragged about the August 2020 incident in which a group of protestors broke a glass door at the Idaho State Capitol on the first day of a special session to address issues related to civil liability and elections during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On January 6, "many protested without engaging the police," the prosecutor said. "This defendant did not choose to take things in from a distance."

A crowd had gathered outside the Capitol to protest the counting of Electoral College votes for then-President-elect Joe Biden. Hemphill recorded video as many people moved closer to the building.

A video the prosecution played in court contains audio of Hemphill telling a police officer, "I have to get out of that crowd," adding that she had surgery and was a journalist. The officer had her stand in a safer area.

Moments later, Hemphill is heard saying to people in the crowd, "You just come in. That's all you do. This is your house, your house. Haven't you had enough with the (expletive)?"

"These are not the actions of a citizen journalist. These are the actions of a rioter," the prosecutor said.

Hemphill's defense attorney, Nathan Silver, said he was "not going to argue that she was carried away," adding that people can have different motives for participating in a protest, "but when they get together, things can become very combustible."

"She may have provided encouragement that she now regrets," Silver said.

Silver asked the court to take into account Hemphill's age, medical situation, and successful, ongoing recovery from addiction, and sentence her to home confinement.

When it came time to make her statement before hearing her sentence, Hemphill said, "I fully regret everything I said and did at the Capitol," adding that her intentions were to record what was happening, not be a part of it. She compared her actions to cheering on a team at a football game.

Judge Lambert said it was "tempting" to be "lenient in this kind of situation," but said what happened on January 6, 2021, was more serious and "didn't equate to other demonstrations."

"In some ways when I see those videos, I want to give you the maximum," Lambert said.

Hemphill will be allowed to voluntarily surrender for detention when a facility is designated. Her probation will be under supervision of the District of Idaho.
