Wonder how this impacts the Durant market

What do the Suns do? At this point, the C market has pretty much dried out. They no longer have McGhee either. If they lose Ayton they have a glaring hole in the middle

I'd imagine not much since the Nets never had interest in Ayton otherwise he would of been part of a S&T package long ago.

Since we are talking about Sarver, we know that Biyombo will be their new starting center with whatever scrub left to back him up.

Pay him $33M or lose him for nothing.

    Meanwhile, the Pacers…

    Maxing out DeAndre Ayton?
Paul George for Sabonis (and Oladipo)
    Sabonis for Haliburton (and Hield)
    Turner & Sabonis
Sabonis gone; Turner maybe probably gone?
    Max DeAndre Ayton

    Oladipo-Brogdon-Turner-Sabonis to
    Haliburton-Duarte-Mathurin-Ayton

    Sure I guess?

Well that answers my sign and trade question. Suns are stupid if they lose him for nothing. What a waste.

Ayton may not be “worth” a max contract, but he is a very good player. I just can’t see Phoenix maintaining contender status without him (unless they’re somehow able to add Durant of course).

The money players get paid these days. It's just crazy. Ayton's a good player, but I don't like the contract. Too much, in my opinion.

The move for the Suns would be to match him and then trade him after their contending window closes. He is still tradeable, and who cares if they have to add assets to do it. They would be rebuilding then anyway.

losing him for nothing would be the worst thing that they could do

Jalen Smith and DeAndre Ayton as the potential starting frontcourt for Indiana is comedy :D

PHX letting Ayton go would be a Tilman type move…or just another Sarver special since him and Sterling were the original cheap owners

he is definitely not worth the max, but as a contender over the cap, u can’t just let him go with no adequate replacement in the fold

I wouldn't mind Duane with a 2-way, that guy can really score

Wow this really changes the Durant landscape. They will either have to go with a Bridges plus picks, a Siakim plus pick or a Herro plus picks scenario or Durant stays and pouts all year. Best scenario for Rockets at least short term is fake back injury and Durant stays. NY is pretty stupid, how about Barret plus picks?

Nets and Suns thinking maybe they can use Ayton in a 3 or 4 team deal.

    Pacers be like:
Why we need to help these other teams. Maybe an overpay, let's just see what happens.
