He's not worth the headache. If he wanted to be a 6th man and we could see what we had there I'd be completely cool with that. With Eason, Smith, Green and Alpi I love this young core. I can respect that line of thinking. I really do hope he proves me wrong because this could be a much better season than people think. I'd love to be in the play-in game. Look at what NO did. We have the assets to make moves at the deadline

I just see the history and it's worrisome to me. I was actually excited when we got him from Cleveland (my post history will show that). Second chance, rebuilding team, no risk let's see what this kid can do. When he quit at halftime that's tough for me. He didn't just quit but he left the arena. I love the direction this team is going and I don't want it to be derailed.

 

Let's give him a chance and root for him and see what happens.

Also, don't give him an expensive extension.

 

I will kind of enjoy the tantrum on the board, not necessarily from you, when the Rockets extend KPJ after or during this season.

 

I think that's fair on letting him play. He'll be a restricted FA. No need to risk cap space right now

 

If he earns it, fine. Even then, important to not overpay and to retain maximum contractual flexibility in case he goes bonkers again.

He is at best the 5th best player on the team in a couple of years, in my opinion. Jalen, Jabari, Alpi and yes, Tari will be ahead of him, I think.

 

I think that's incredibly pessimistic. He's currently either the best or second best player on the team, if Jalen, Jabari, Eason, and Sengun all reach their maximum potential and KPJ just reaches his likely potential, he's at worst the 4th best player on the team.....and that team cake walks to multiple championships.

I'm honestly not stressing much about this kind of conversation before the season. those who are willing to give him a chance to prove himself will come around. Those who aren't, well, they aren't worth discussing it with.

I personally think you'll come around.

He already impressed last season, I think he builds on that this season.
