Man I’m catching up on a few basketball podcasts, The Ringer and The Athletic to name a few..and it’s maddening the Chet propaganda they’re pushing. Their conclusion from the Rockets/Thunder game was Chet was a defensive monster and stood out the most. They said the Rockets players were terrified of going into the paint. They were also impressed with Giddey and mentioned him being on a whole nother level than everyone on the court. Am I going nuts or was he sorta lackluster vs. the Rockets? He shot poorly, played poor D on our guards, and was a big reason they blew the game in the end. Also Chet seemed invisible most of the game to me besides a few nice blocks yet they painted Jabari as the one who dissapointed. Nothing about his D vs Chet, his blocks and steals on Chet, his strong play in the last 5 mins to win the Rockets the game. Hardly anything about Tari who’s been one of the most impressive and surprising player. These guys seem to be trying hard to push a narrative and it’s maddening.

Yes but his game is still limited because he can't shoot. You essentially don't have to guard him on the perimeter and that's really exploitable in a playoff match-up. Jabari doesn't have the same limitations, his one main offensive limitation (handles) is not something that's particularly exploitable, more something that just would prevent him from going next level

    Not a bad comp.

He would need to be better in the post but Dream could help with that.

    Minus the attitude of course.

You can also prevent him from trying to finish inside by putting a body in front of him because he is too scared of getting fouled and embarrassing himself at the FT line

I’m not saying personality. I’m saying his game , but I think Jabari will have a better jumper .

Jabari needs to get stronger by getting another 15 lbs of muscle. Strength or lack of it was one of his weaknesses. By getting stronger and developing a couple of moves inside the pain would go a long way into expanding his offensive skills. Dude is an elite prospect worth of Hakeem's time.

Its weird to think jabari would become something he wasn't in college, Chet put up better numbers last year, and so did Tari for that matter, why would that all of sudden change in summerleague? These players were drafted on what they will eventually become, not what they are now. Jabari is a full year younger than Chet, and two years younger than Tari. You see the skillset he already has, give him 1-2 years to develop and compare that to what these other players are today.

Well guess "THE LOCK SMITH" is the approved nickname now.

The more I watch Jabari, the more he reminds me of young raw Garnett. Give Jabari few more years, along with John Lucas, and Hakeem training and he will be easily a superstar in this league.

I don't know it is just too harsh sounding, and the K makes difficult to roll off the tongue. Also has no assonance or alliteration.

Dude is so mature for his age and I love the self awareness. You can have all the skills in the world but you have to have the attitude to match

Lol Lock just turned 19 his prime should be around 25 which is nearly 7 years from now! Can you imagine how much he will improve by then?

The top 5 players in the league the ones who lead you to a chip are usually drafted and grown. Curry and Giannis being the most recent examples and guys like Embiid and Tatum on the cusp.

Just need to let Green and Smith grow and be patient.
