Bumping my thread which is passe...

    PJ Tucker's gamescores this series: -.9, 2.3, 1.7
    Trevor Ariza's gamescores this series: 0.5, 8.8, 6.5

At least Ryan Andreson showed up!

I mean, I'm not letting EG off the hook. 11-39, 6-26 on threes. No bueno.

Not worried about this series overall. One or two or all of them will put in solid games.

Just looking at the state of the "others" long term

This was about as much of a slaughter of one position as you can find.

PJ Tucker: 34 minutes, 1 point, wouldn't even shoot at 0-3, 1-3 on FTs, 5 rebounds, 2 assists in 34 minutes
Ariza: 23 minutes because he got in foul trouble, 8 points, 3-8, 1-5 on threes, 2 boards, 0 assists.
Anderson: 0-1 in his useless 5 minutes
MbahMoute: 17 minutes, 0-6, no points, 4 boards and a team worse -14
    _____________________________

    79 minutes, 9 points, 3-18 FG, 1-10 threes, 12 boards, 2 assists

Nobody expects the Rockets to win the forward matchup with GSW. Not when they have KD and Draymond. But that's so so so so so so so so so so bad.

Granted, DM can't just go out and get a KD. Not much you can do I think. Giving Ryan that money was horrible in retrospect, but it led us to where we are today... he was very solid last year even if overpaid and one dimensional.

Unless Lebron joins... but I still think thats very low likelihood - even if he wants to leave Cleveland, why leave the East?

Maybe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Only took a few years (or decades of you think about it….).

do they finally have some forwards?

    Yes

What an exciting young core! So glad we went this route instead of trying to get solid players in the Harden deal. I consider Green and Smith in the Harden deal because we picked a direction and didn't float around.

I’d like to see Eason starting over Tate, but I know that’s a pipe dream. I think he already looks better than Tate, but I’m sure it will be a move made down the road.

I like Tate the person. But yes, Eason seems to be the player not only with the much higher ceiling, but already with an ability to make more of an impact right away.

I agree with that, but I think you have to start Tate to start the season and see what his value can be if he's hitting threes. If Bari and Tari are as advertised then Tate is a future bench player. Not sure how he'll receive that at this point.

Not saying he can't be more but he's so raw offensively it reminds me of the Garuba hype train last year.

Ive read a lot of comments looking at him as likely a quality rotation player but not a star.

Maybe he does become something but I would rather play Martin (if still here) and Tate for now.

The very least let's boost Martin's trade value. If we start him with Jabari and he shoots 35-37% from 3 I bet we could get a mid first for him given his friendly cap deal that a lot of teams can take on.

I think Tate is ultimately a backup 3 who can't shoot but plays solid defense and makes the effort plays...

looks better than Tate? Dude looks like one of the best players this draft class even recognizing his offensive game is limited.

he’s a reincarnation of Kawhi but already shoots better - albeit not quite the halfcourt playmaker yet.

Tari Eason can be REALLY REALLY good.
