Well not every Marvel movie or series will have men as their primary audience. I think Marvel needs to do a better job of differentiating its products for its audiences because there are a lot of sissy boys who don't like change.
I disagree. If you bring men's wives into the fanbase, it's value add and a stronger selling point. Then the family watches the movies together, etc. My wife is already a unicorn because she likes action and comic movies, but selling most plebian females on Marvel is a good idea.
Maybe Thor hanging out with the Guardians Of The Galaxy rubbed off on him. It felt like an animated Disney movie brought to live action. I was not bored tho so that's good.
Haven't these arguments been tested with the WNBA? Women don't go to the games. The women that do, can't drag men to them. Women willingly go to NBA games. Maybe there's something about super fit giant men in shorts and tank tops that appeals to them. Maybe there's something about fit male superheros that appeals to them. We haven't really seen a truly women's version of a men's superhero, have we? That'll be the experiment that will test if women will buy women's superheroes and if men will go along with it.

I don't think having a female co-star for 1 movie in a series of 4 that will at least be 5 is analogous to having an all-female league. If there are 5 movies, then that means in 4 of them there will be 1 male Thor, and in 1 there will be 1 male Thor + 1 female Thor. It's not some huge cultural shift.

Except that didn't happen. The opportunity is for girl audience. The dudes aren't going anywhere. That is like saying they shouldn't done black panther or shang chi because it alienated the majority white boy audience.
