Summer league means absolutely nothing. Didn't John Lucas the III scored 40 in the summer league? I'll wait till at least pre season to make my assessment.

yeah its not as good as being able to finish at the rim but he found a way to be effective anyway. just like he's not great at creating separation in isolation but he became a plus at creating advantages in PnR and he's quick/decisive at attacking closeouts when the advantage is already created.

if he had all that other stuff he would've been the 5th or 6th pick in the draft. he fell to 29 because of his limitations but he's looking like he should've gone sooner because he already has answers to his limitations.

That last shot contest by Bari was legit, watch those hips! The lateral movement for him to get back on defense and contest what would be a layup was sexy. Hopefully transition defense gets a lot better this year...and transition offense.

Nix doesn’t have the natural feel for the game that TyTy has. The Game is natural for him. I never felt like nix was in control of the game or offense when he’s running point, I’m waiting for a turnover or bad decision.

We drafted him because he was the BPA and he has probably the greatest floor out of the top 3. 3 and D is needed to win a championship. We don’t need another scorer but it’s a luxury if Jabari can expand on his game more

Tyty reminds me of snoop not Snoop doggy dog but the cooler Snoop, 'How I look, maine?'. Both cold blooded, Bullard. Can't be f'd with.
I think the transition offense will be better by process of elimination. I'm not throwing shade but I saw Jabari get a rebound and what did he do? Passed it to the guard on the fast break.

Those 2 assists and 9 points on 10 shots REALLY impressed some people I guess.

Lol "the best PG on the team", I hope you mean the summer league team because even that isn't certain.

I was raised on them as a wee lad. I've been all around the world and while their are some awesome burgers out there, Whataburger hands down beats every fast food burger chain that has ever existed. I know the Cali crowd swears by In and Out, but they're not even close imo.

    Jabari so far:

Game 1: Not enough touches, too passive.

Game 2: Over aggressive shooting the ball, took rushed shots. Made winning plays while struggling on offense.

let's see how many of these guys are still around come late February/early March when we're barely 20-40 and we're amusing ourselves in the game threads with Severo memes

    A few observations:
-TyTy has a nice 3 range game - you don’t see legit 3 range scorers fall that low in the draft so it’s kind of surprising. His floater in the paint is a beautiful thing to see - underrated shot there and nice to see him use it to perfection right over a shot blocker like Chet. Helpless…. He also had a couple of nice passes after driving to the hoop - didn’t always get the assist but they were good high level reads across the court.
    - Eason is legit - closest I have seen to Kawhi in a while. He definitely has to refine his game significantly but the athleticism, timing, and instincts are all there and he manages to impact the game significantly on hustle alone which is impressive.
    - Jabari - I ain’t even worried. The shots rimmed out - so what. He is an excellent defender and seems like he has great bball IQ. If Mobley is the prototypical modern 5, then Jabari is the PF version of that(less shot blocking, more shooting). You can see he likes to “direct” on defense and we need that SO bad on the court. Jabari, Eason, and Tate give us a group of guys to define a culture of defense and I’m here for it.
-I’ve seen enough of Nix and Lamb to know they aren’t the answer.
-JC still needs work but his potential is high still and I think he could be a great JR Smith style 6th man….needs a lot of work on shot selection and including teammates though. Kind of seems like a long play for him though - needs maturity.

Jabari's impact isn't just the points. His shot is off, I don't think it's that big of a worry. His defense and rebounding are great. When he adds 40% 3 point shooting we're going to marvel in his 2-way capability. He's going to be a 20-10 machine with great defense. He's going to provide spacing to guards who actually know how to use a pick. If I'm Josh Christopher and I wanted my coaches and team to see me progress, I'm out there trying to dime up Jabari on picknpops. We know he can score. Can he draw defenders and kick to open shooters?

Did I say coaches? What are they even working on this is an underlying problem with Summer League, G League, etc. These guys are out for #1.

Jalen should be playing. Martin should be playing. Anthony Lamb should not be playing. Starting 5 should be Green, Christopher, Martin, Smith, Garuba.

Was really hoping to see Smith and Garuba together on defense. I wonder how well Paolo and Chet would've done against those two. I guess we'll never know...

Thats how it goes with shooters. When they’re on they live up to expectations. When they’re off they better have another set of skills to keep them on the floor. Lucky for us Jabari is a very good defender so you can allow him to shoot through slumps. My main thing all along has been that I really hope we’re not using top 5 picks on role players, but on guys who can carry the load if necessary. I think Jabari can be that guy, but his game needs work. It will be up to him how good or great he wants to become.

Eason is a great rebounder. He knows how to throw around his body, but needs to keep an eye on his foul rate. His skills will be a breath of fresh air for this team. Nix played well and more under control. Hudgins made the most of his time - looks like an nba player to me.

Always good to win especially when you could have played way better.
