So, Jabari played like a poor man Christian Wood tonight. Ivey would have been the better pick...should've traded KPJ as well during the draft and then drafted Ivey. His upside is way higher than Jabari, just saying...

A bad game shooting wise does not stop him from having an impact on the game. Does not quit like Wood and KPJ.... Does not whine and leave at halftime... Just keeps playing hard and doing the right things til the shot starts falling.... ROY

Klay was 21 and 9 months when the league started. Jabari is 19 and almost 2 months now. Klay’s stats in his first year were 12.5 - 2.4 - 2 in a team with 34,8% wins.

OP would have been impressed with Anthony Morrow and Von Wafer if it was just SL lol

If Bari played like CWood then Chet would have had 33 and 15 on 75% shooting. Just give it some time.

Tell us you don't understand what you're seeing on the entire defensive side of the court, without telling us you don't understand what you're seeing on the entire defensive side of the court.

The problem with casuals. They think a player's worth is soley based on offense.

Jabari is playing exceptional defense, and isn't a liability on offense.

He will excel playing alongside green, sengun and kpj.

I'd rather have Jabari and what we have now than Ivey and a gaping hole at PF.

Nah Jabari has higher upside simply because he is bigger. MJ was the only time a guard was the best player in the NBA, every other time it was a big man.

Ivey only plays 1 side of the ball Jabari plays both ends.if you think Jabari played like a poor man's CWood tonight you have a peasant level of bball IQ and have 0 clue what the hell is going on, just saying....

Jabari played better defense tonight than Wood in his whole career

He’s going to be a two way beast. His defense and effort are elite and so is his shot that is basically unblockable. Once he gets settled he is going to be a force to be reckoned with. He’s not down growing or putting on muscle too. Going to be scary good.

Revisit this in 2 years when Jabari is the age Clay was his rookie year.

They specifically think the value is only on offense and only on the ability to dribble-drive and pass to others as the primary skill.

The concept that it is a team game vs a series of one-on-one contests, that both sides of the court matter, and that the points come from the ball going through the hoop, ideally from 3, are foreign to people like the OP.

Summer league tends to favor ball handling guards that are trying to avoid being cut. Jabari will be a star player. Banchero might become a superstar player that’s why he went number one. I think the draft pick order was spot on this year. Maybe we get first pick next year. But Jabari was the best pick for our needs at number 3. His shot will start falling, that should not even be a question.

Anyone worried about Smith not scoring shouldn't. If you are paying attention you would see that he is affecting the game in other ways.
In other words, he isnt being a liability. Just keep doing what he's doing and that shot will come along.
