Nix is ok for a backup guard but nothing more than that

I agree...i think right now, Paolo is more ready. Long term...don't think so. Jabari has more upside IMO and some other NBA Execs.

    Nix 6-9fg 3-5 3pters 6 assists
    Ty Ty 4-10fg 1-5 3pters 2 assists

I guess sometimes it is the newer guy people just like.

Nix makes passes no one else on our SL team can make including the one inbounds pass perfectly weighted to Christopher to win the game.

I agree he doesn't have KG's frame. I wasn't commenting on that so much. Even KG had trouble with bigger post up bigs like Yao, Shaq, and even Pau Gasol.

I was more on the defensive spacing, cat-and-mouse games, and diagnosing plays/schemes. KG was elite at that even when he lost his athleticism.

All I need him to be is decent/solid if he draws doubles or defensive attention when he gets hot. Sometimes just being a decoy can help team offense.

I expect Jalen and our PG to handle the heavy lifting, but it's a skill set I'd like him to develop in pressure situations in the years ahead. No rush as he's just a 19-year-old rookie right now, I enjoyed his game today.

Trajectory??????? Based on 2 games, you are ready to create a trajectory? Come on man I thought the level of ridiculousness last year with green was something else but atleast there people waited until the regular season to call him a bust.

Jabari will hit open shots and doesn’t need a lot of time or room to get it off. He also can hit turn arounds. Offensively I don’t think he is going to be an efficient scorer if he doesn’t improve scoring under the basket. He had zero free throw attempts. Even if he doesn’t improve inside he is a 15-20 point a game scorer in a few years.

Defensively he looks to be better than “good”. He has All NBA Defense potential and I love the motor and effort. He has lock down potential.

Hard to say he had a good game with the shooting woes, but he did everything else so well and he wasn’t scared to keep shooting. I was impressed.

I noticed on Jabari's first 3PA that he went into his shot with his feet spread too far apart. If he's going to take those shots, he needs to learn to bring his left foot up and into the shot for some elevation and arc. I'd like him to spend some time with Green, tbh. Green is really good about elevation and consistent form. Jabari can rely on his height a little too much, which you cannot do in the NBA.

For anyone that's watched Jabari in college and before - has his shot always been so flat?

Numbers don't tell the story of the game. Eye-test...Ty-Ty has much better feel for the game. Nix ended up having a very solid game though but he held onto the ball a lot more. The ball never got sticky with Ty-Ty though which is exactly what I want in a PG. Ty-Ty also played way better D than Nix. Giddy got most of his points on Nix.

Boy do I disagree with that. Ty Ty played mostly at SG though.

    Giddy tonight 6-15fg 0-3 on 3pters. 8 assist, but 5 turnovers....

He didn't do all that great it seems.

No, nerves are changing his mechanics. He will correct and be fine.

    Great win.

The offense looked much better tonight and we won with winning plays.

Jabari was amazing. He shot terribly but that and not getting to the line were the only things that he did wrong tonight, 9 rebs 4 steals 3 blocks he did it all.

Jabari was also the closer of this game, not by making shots but being a big brain and doing moves that ensured the win. First he was the guy who dove to the floor, got the loose ball and called a timeout thst lead to Rox getting the lead. Second he defended Tre Mann and gave a good foul that put him on the line with 8 secs to go and the Rox up 3. Third he made 2 inbound passes that lead to a Rox successful posession and finally he even defended Giddey to close out the W. Meanwhile Chet was just a spectator that whole time.

In this game Jabari showed his athleticism, high bball IQ and competitive spirit. Chet may have understood whst is going on, but if he dove for that ball I think he might have broken something.

I didn't think highly of him last year either. Even when Stone said they saw him as a lotto pick this year my first thought was are we hyping him up for a trade.

He is making improvements, but he is on track to be a journeyman backup PG.

Honestly right now none of our players on our team will likely be our starting pg by the time we make the playoffs.

Nope. I think the coaches gave him the green light to shoot the heck out of the ball and he consequently rushed it a little bit.

Chet really reminds me of Manute Bol who was primarily a shot blocker. Chet is way, way too thin, and doesn't look to have the frame to bulk up. I think the BIGS in the NBA are going to abuse him.
