The everyday players in the lineup couldn't do enough to make up for all the replacement players in the lineup today. If Pena was well enough to ph, it's disappointing and frustrating he couldn't be in the lineup. Needed another real bat today.
1 chickens**t inning by the pitcher and catcher can get you beat in MLB. You don't usually give away 3 runs and win. Altuve, Alvarez, Bregman and Tucker did nothing. Dubon in the 2-hole vs Diaz is still baffling. Oh well, let's **** 'em up tomorrow.
And where’s Brantley? TK and Blum haven’t said a word. It’s been over 10 days. He may not be back till after ASB.
I didn't watch the game versus scoreboard watched. But, it sounds like we gifted them a win with one uncharacteristic inning. (Sh)it Happens! Sometimes!
He’s old. He shouldn’t be back before the all star break. We have an 8 game lead on a shitty Twins team and a 13 game lead on the Mariners. we are just killing time until October. This is not hard to understand.
Big effin meh. We lose a game we should’ve won on some goofy **** and we have a huge division lead. Not optimal but not surprised….”that’s baseball”
Dusty said he is still not cleared to swing yet, so I agree, probably not until after the ASB. With that much time away he'll also need a rehab assignment, so I would say not for at least 2 weeks. I kind of have a suspicion that the injury could be worse than assumed.
He may have been on deck as a decoy. If you were serious about using him, you pinch hit him for Chas. But by putting him on deck, you make the A's feel like they have to pitch to JJ because you have Pena coming up instead of Maldanado. Otherwise, the A's may be more likely to be careful to JJ knowing that putting him on with a walk is no big deal.
