I like Dubon perfectly fine as a bench player but when he has to start, he's a #8 or #9 hitter - not a #2. Meyers may well need a day. He has played quite a bit since he returned. But why sit him vs a LHP when he's on a hot streak? Bregman needs to keep up his resurgence. He has been TERRIBLE vs LHP this year. The hitter between Alvarez and Tucker MUST mash lefties to make managers think twice before changing pitchers to Yordan and punish them for choosing a southpaw when they do.
For ****s sake Dusty you really make it easy to hate you with your abject stupidity in constructing a lineup order that has your second worst hitter hitting in the top third of the lineup for no damn good reason.
A's traded Christian Bethancourt to the Rays so Astros won't be seeing him in the rest of the series.
Can someone explain to me why Dubon is the #2 hitter? Is he another one we have to trade to save Dusty from himself?
"It keeps everyone in the same spot"... BUT when the **** are they going to pitch to Altuve the same just because of lineup order rather than who is actually behind him?
I’m seriously starting to believe that old man Dusty puts together these lineups just to go against all advice given to him.
Or he has a bingo card of line ups that he has to fill out with wins as part of his contract. If he does, he gets a bonus.
It has always felt like he takes any advice the FO gives him and wipes his ass with it. he doesn’t seem to do dumbshit awfulness in the playoffs. Like maybe It’s understood he gets to do whatever dumbass **** he wants in the regular season but he has to play by the numbers in the playoffs.
