    No I don't remember it. All I remember is Rodney King. I was 16 in 1991. I'm surprised I don't remember other than the riots were a direct result of the verdict from what I remember

    Edit: I guess I do remember Asian owned stores being targeted during the riot

    I remember tension between blacks and Asian (korean) store owners but I guess I assumed what it stemmed from

    Part of it was the verdict from Rodney King...

    but also the Korean store owner walked off free for shooting a little black girl buying a soda. That's part of why they torched korean businesses in LA.

    you're not nearly as old as I thought you were... are you familiar with the clauses in the 13th amendment and how southern Sheriffs would arrest blacks trying to flee up north?


    and then arrest black men for random crimes...to then sell them to coal mines and private farms.

    Your ancestors likely fought in WW2, Korea and Vietnam. Well, before 1965...they didn't get the GI Bill for college tuition or mortgage assistance.

    You're denying over 90 years of structural discrimination.



    My ancestors got very generous federal assistance to buy a house, serve in the military, go to college (they mostly drank it all away). They came from foreign countries, enemy countries and were literally handed checks.

    My grandfather fought in Korea with young black men. When they flew home in DC, the black soldiers couldn't even sit in the same train car as them.

    Our country has treated black men as cannon fodder for war...and garbage when they come home while we salute every white dude.

    My grandfather was a rapist, abusive *******, and a drunk btw...but he wasn't a racist. He had so many hand-outs as a white vet while his black comrades got ****.

    I'm not denying anything. We can't change the past. Rightly or wrongly Blacks will never receive wealth lost to discrimination, government or private.

    The government has implemented legislation to correct discrimination. It works.

    For the umpteenth time, the point about murder was that police shoot more white suspects though blacks lead in violent crime.

    Other than that I don't focus on crime, I focus on broken homes
