Since Silas has taken over the Rockets have never looked like a basketball team. There's very little passing, no offensive sets and defense is not a priority.

I know its Summer League but last night was a continuation of last season. They still do not look like a team, rather a group of players who look like they're playing a PICKUP GAME

Yeah you have that feeling the coaching is just not there. Lionel Hollins could of been secretly brought in once he gets da boot. Just my thoughts. Good post. Good morning.

Yes...... but ..... OKC who is a team at a similar stage of rebuild as us seem to have a better style/system in their first few games compared to what I saw today.

The Thunder shut down their whole team in February with soreness to prepare for July - and it shows

Some of y’all have never watched Summer League and it shows.

By the way, the Kings won the tournament last season.

would've been nice to see more sets.

I didn't see any (or at least very few) PnR sets for tyty. PnP sets for jabari. mid post sets for jabari (2, and he went 1/2).

    Facilitators got to facilitate

    Nix was hot garbage

Josh Christopher was hot garbage that shot enough that he got 22 pts ( .389 on 7/18)
1 assist...... Jabari the non assist guy had 3 assists.
    _________________

Players only had one practice; but Josh Christopher and Nix were ball hogging
and got too deep among the trees before they decided to pass. Resulted in
    garbage passes.

The only ones I liked were Tari (13 rebounds) and Jabari.
I don't mind Holman for our Dual Contract. Throw the rest
    in the dumpster.

If that's the case, we've been going after him since we hired Silas.

agreed except I saw some promise from tyty. all 3 rookies will look even better next game. nix doesn't look any better from last year though. JC isn't meant for the Jalen green role. he needs to stick to attacking closeouts. he played better at the end of last season when he kept it within his abilities.

My point is, that is Silas's system! They played like that last yr. That is why they lost more games than any team in back to back yrs.

Yeah it looked like JC though he was the show.....but we were there to see
Jabari and Tari. End up being a s*** show. Hudgins looked like our best player
for a moment as he was more in tune with what we were suppose to be
doing. Facilitate and set up Tari/Bari (others).

TyTy started off lame as an off the ball guard, but was better.
He has the floater game and up to 10 footers down. Rockets
had to yank the ball out of the hands of Nix/JC to see TyTy
    with the ball.

Magic did a good job of looking for and setting up Banchero.
They knew who the show was.....and why people were there.
To see Banchero on their side.

Summer League is a pick up game. It’s literally a bunch of amateurs getting together for 2 practices and getting thrown out on a court.

You’re thinking to much about it.

My point is, we have been tanking for two years (Silas time span)

His system in Dallas ran a high frequency of PnR. Wood refused to run
PnR just like Wall refused to run PnR the year before. Theis was brought
in to run that role just like WCS, Dwight Powell, Kleber did in 2019 for Silas.
Wood ran off Theis, shot 19% from 3 to get Theis kicked out of the starting
    lineup.

Tari/Bari/Sengun and Garba are going to be asked to do that
this season. Silas was in street clothes last night just
observing. Another coach was at the helm.

This is where you tell me; but they used the Silas system
last night.......and I say, so did the Vipers the last two seasons.
    And they were successful.
