Probably because of his weight gain, he didn't have a great jumper, a bunch of his scoring is in the post/paint and crashing the boards, combined with the fact he didn't go to college.

He didn't play for our summer league team because he was playing for the Sixers' summer league team.
The biggest disappointment I have was that Nix didn't seem to lose weight to return to his former weight. I don't know, but outside of a few people here, I think most people were just hoping he would lose weight and possibly become some type of steal as a result. There were those that thought he had lottery-level talent when he was in high school, but ...

Because he got demolished by grown men in the GL. His shooting was always a concern. "Very little skill"? Hardly...

I am perhaps unique in not holding SL to a high, determinable environment. To me it’s the Showcase, an audition for international signings. Mebbe some summer binding?

I don't think one Summer League game should doom any young prospect, but Nix should have looked better than that last night given his time in the G League and NBA.

Christopher played selfish basketball, but as a sophomore, he looked like a man playing with boys, and that's kind of what you expect from Nix. Instead, he looked like an undrafted rookie. Can't shoot. Poor defense. Didn't create shots for others.

Again, it's one Summer League game, but if Nix can't play better than that through the rest of SL, training camp and preseason, I'm not sure how the Rockets can justify giving him the backup PG spot over TyTy. Hell, if he can't play better than that, he's not even worth a roster spot.

I know he killed it in the GL last year, but we didn't see anything when he got his nba call up last year, and we didn't see anything last night.

Given his experience you would expect him to play a bit better.

Never saw the fascination with this guy, but Stone did sign him, so he should get his shot in the pre-season. If he looks the same as he did when he got his call up last year then he will probably not make it in the league and it will be time to cut bait.

They need to cut him. No need to waste a roster spot.

The fact that he couldn't actually get the summer league team into any type of sets shouldn't bode well for him as a PG, and if he's not a true PG then I don't really know what his value is in the NBA. I for one am left scratching my head why the Rockets are so infatuated with this guy.

I never got why people didn't see his talent. He's like a carbon copy of Wade.

Gup shouldn't have to remind Nix to be more vocal when out on the court at this point. Did anyone else notice that last night? He wasn't having a good game, but that's not an excuse to clam up. Talk to your teammates. Bring some energy and get the guys involved. Nix better figure it out quick for TyTy's shadow looms large.

Probably. It was very much pickup style ball, and it's not always the case that the best PG on your team is the best ball hog. Not to use that term to diminish Josh Christopher but lets be honest... he was that guy in a pickup game that would dominate the ball, but he's not a real PG, and had little intention of getting the team into sets where the ball moves.

I'm disappointed. I compared him to Kyle Lowry before Kyle Lowry was charged with a battery but young Kyle always looked to get others involved.

Even the G-League stint showed he always had some glaring issues that would make him questionable for a rotation role in the NBA, never understood the hype he got here.

I wish the organization would head more towards a Miami model where they care a lot about fitness. I can understand why you would allow it for new players on your G League team, but I can't understand it anywhere else.

Nix does NOT look like he should be carrying this much weight. He's not as explosive, nimble or agile as he should be. He's just got to be shown how big this moment is in his life. Easier said than done, I know.
