I said during the tank that a wasted season would only be worth it if you came away with one of the big 3 and we did. Who ultimately is the best is up for grabs and many other factors play into that.

That said I think Ty Ty is a wasted pick and I would have rather grabbed Jovic who went two picks earlier or Jaden Hardy who was available because of their upside. Because we were #3 and only had one choice i tend to look at Jabari+Eason+TyTy as a full draft. Meaning we may have gotten the worse of the 3 but if we hit on Eason or TyTy it could make up for that and on the whole I think it's a really good draft for Stone.

So it remains to be seen if Jovic+Hardy is better than Eason+TyTy and if you asked me now I would say no. I hope I'm wrong.

Tari+TyTy and it's not even close...Mainly because of Tari lol
I have high hopes for him, his defense is just so incredible...

TyTy may look like a wasted pick, but lets wait and see how he looks in the NBA setting. He had a down year but he has shown some potential...My hope for him is that he's another late first round hit like Christopher, who didn't show much in college but played well in his first year in the league.

As an aside, I love Gatlin. I listen to his podcasts all the time.

Bringing up Banchero is a worthless discussion. While he was the best player in the draft, it's irrelevant since we picked 3rd and landed on Jabari

It's exciting to watch him grow regardless

I'm seeing Bari more like 6'10 Reggie Miller.

This kid can trash talk with the best of them to go along with his elite 3P%.

I remember when people said Jaygup was a wasted pick. I agree 100% ... wait and see before we judge a pick.

Let me say, if we got 6'10 Reggie with potentially great defense, we are in line to see some great times as Rockets fans. He needs improvement with handles and finishing at the rim but those will be secondary tools for him, and he will get better at them. He is going to be a hell of a player.

I think it is foolish to glean much out of Summer league games. Two words: Donte Green.
Also, there have been rookies of the year who did not pan out later- think Tyreke Evans and Michael Carter-Williams. By the same token, people get written off too quickly and can become great players. Chauncey Billups comes to mind. I don't know how you can take much away from one game without any kind of structure, or defined roles.

Anyone who overreacts to Jabari’s performance tonight is being foolish. Some of the ball handling and athletic limitations were well known and were on display tonight, but there were also some moments where he put the ball on the floor and took it to the rim, as well as great passing. The handles will take time and for me it’s one of the biggest factors in nba success. Ask Trajan Langdon how important handles are. But Jabari is only two months removed from being 18. It always takes bigs longer to develop. And look how advanced he is for his age in his overall game. I think Jabari will get there.

what I really want to pound the tables about is our guard play and overall lack of creators and distributors; lack of facilitators; lack of players with the court vision to get others involved and maximize the talent on the court. You can’t draft a guy like Jabari #3 and have no real point guard on the team. We are gonna waste this guy’s talent if we don’t have guys that can get him the ball and put him in a position to thrive. ISO ball is not gonna help Jabari. For the love of God, get a point guard who can run the court and set up our scorers. We are making it harder on ourselves then it has to be.

Huh? Rox had no choice but to get Jabari. Even if Jabsri turns into the worst of the 3 players thats ok since the Rox hsd no chsnce to get Chet or Paolo.

I also wanted Jaden Hardy cuz of upside but am now warming up to Tyty. He aint bad and is a "proper" pg which is sorely needed by the team RN. Jovic and Eason are a wash in my eyes, Jovic has higher upside but Eason has defensive chops Jovic can never have.

He did the thing nobody thought he could do. He got two layups off the bounce. So I like what he did. He also had a three. And a turnaround. The two things we thought he could do. So if you ask me if went better than expected.

Agree. Nix was probably the most disappointing player of the game for me.
