He is just a big guy, I don't think he will ever be lean, he is more of a Kyle Lowry type body. Which is a major advantage at 6'4 or 5 inches as a PG. DD
Excited to see what kind of shape he looks in. even if he’s naturally bigger , he can still vastly improve his conditioning . he does have a tight handle , but I haven’t seen shooting , nor have I seen speed / athleticism on D . getting in better shape and being able to fly around vs other guards is what we need . He can gain back 10 pounds over a few years If the roster needs that in the future . He reminds me of josh Christopher , but josh is ahead in most aspects and is bigger and a better athlete . Nix is up agaisnt the block imo . Competing for guard / small win mins with .. kpj , green , ty ty , Christopher , Tate , Gary ? ty ty may not be ahead of him on the depth chart , and we have a longer contract with him , but he could be better and I bet we play him over nix if he earns it . I realize nix is very young and I think he’s a good prospect . But the quote from the front office was hype . I wonder what he’s worth packaged with Martin jr ?
The elephant in the room is the free throws. 16/30 in the pros for 53%. 14/25 in the GL for 56%. That is a childlike 30/55 from the free-throw line as an NBA point guard. If he continues to shoot them like Charles Barkley's old golf swing, he is worthless for all intents and purposes. Pulling for the guy, because I like his Jason Kidd-ish game. He has a natural tempo and vision and pops those passes right on target.
Nix is bad…turnover prone, cannot shoot free throws and cannot coordinate the offense…in the second half they need to start TyTy at point.
Offense looked infinitely better with Ty Ty. Nix looks like he's playing to score first which he's not even doing well. He looks out of shape for a young guy too which is probably why he is so damn slow.
You forgot to add that he’s fat and wayyyyy to slow for the NBA game. Was hopeful that he shed the 30 pounds they talked about in the offseason, but that was obviously fake news. He may have even gained a few pounds. Please for the love of the game don’t keep him over Christopher or TyTy!!!

2/7 FT is putrid. He's such a poor free throw shooter. Poor free throw shooters like should get weeded out after their first year. Somehow he slipped pass for the Rockets. Silas must've been the one keeping him around because of some stupid crap like "he's a great person on the inside". Silas is that corny.
With the way Nix played today, it should not be hard for TyTy to secure the backup PG spot on the roster.
