I want you to figure out on your own which one of those actions is victimless and which one isn't.

Come on dude. You can use that matter in between your ears for once.

Also drug laws in Russia and even in the US are nothing more than avenues for law enforcement and authoritarians to selectively enforce based on political or social convenience. Hence why drug enforcement in Russia and the US is extremely selective and discretionary. Hence why my entire childhood in a upper middle class suburban neighborhood where every other kid was smoking pot, I've never seen one kid have any charge filed against them that ruined their futures such as with college admissions while this routinely happens in other types of neighborhoods. Cops in those neighborhoods don't enforce drug law nearly at the same level as other communities.

People in Russia smoke pot. Griner probably has routinely entered Russia without any hassle before. The time suggests that this particular selective enforcement was politically motivated.

It doesn't matter which is worse. However, different countries have different laws. Whether I like them or not I'm self aware enough not to try and get weed into Russia in our current political climate. Like I said, not going to feel sorry for her. She's a dumbass. Whatever happens is her problem. Government doesn't need to help

All that doesn't matter whatsoever. Politically motivated? Probably 100% which makes her an even bigger idiot for not seeing that.

    K. I just notice patterns. I notice how when it's someone like a white Marine breaking laws in a foreign country and getting arrested, I didn't see this type of rhetoric. In fact the complete opposite as I've heard talks about Obama being a traitor for not fighting more to return said former Marine back. It seems like you really really care about this one particular person being abandoned by the US government.

I'm sorry dude. I just can't see a world were you would have this much condemnation for the imprisoned US citizen if it was some white straight veteran who broke the law. I just can't see it.

I had no idea about the marine situation until you brought it to my attention. I never said anything negative about Obama outside of disagreeing with some of his decisions (I've certainly been much harsher on Trump)so that's also not on my shoulders.

This is in the media currently. A lot. I literally get Smartnews, Google and yahoo alerts about it. I'm just being honest. If you want me to condemn the dude too sure. Dumbass. He's not being shoved down my throat though like this Dumbass is. If you showed the media coverage was the same I'll happily admit I'm wrong

actually, the more interesting thing is that she exercised her free speech to protest the American law enforcement and judicial system. Good for her. Now she is seeing first-hand how a non-American law enforcement and judicial system operates. Again, good for her. Perhaps when she is released she will write a book about her experiences and offer up some tentative comparisons of the two systems. If the book sells, again, good for her.

Good news, Biden has struck a deal with Yuri to sneak her out of Russian prison before she has to fight a demogorgon...

The State Department is always involved to various degrees whenever a US Citizen is detained by a foreign government. It's just part of what they do.

I hope she comes home because I root for Houston folks. And USA folks.

I also thought I was going to jail for life when I got pulled over for going the wrong way on a confusing one way street in Mexico. Gave the cop a twenty dollar bill and he spared me.
